This is just a sick episode in the latter day times of Ireland. My heart goes out to this loyal keeper of justice - friends, colleagues, & FAMILY -Totally senseless Waste... I don't understand...?
I will ensure Fine Gael, The Labour Party & Fianna Fail will never get a a vote within an asses's roar of us if they try to shut down our local Garda Station - ... An ass can roar quite a distance. Try us AGAIN ? 1st look back at our records & consider do you want to take us on AGAIN ?
We need more Gardai not less, and arm them all ... this is turning into a scumbag society.
I dont agree with arming the Garda ,would just turn it into gun society but i do think every effort should (and will) be made to bring all of these guys to justice ,as far as i'm concerned they are all equally guilty of this horrendeous murder and should be tried and made an example of.Let these killers know that this type of senselessness will not be tolerated.
i agree with peter cronin thats why i have said put the army to work they armed already
They have reduced the number of army barracks that we have as well... Just where is all this going to stop and this useless Government do the job they are paid to do and protect the people......
Peter Cronin - But that's the problem - they WILL be tried and sent to a nice cozy cell where they can run their gangs from prison. They even have the luxury of a gym to beef up kick harder when they get free after a minimal amount of years. it sickens me. I say eye for an eye in this case.
Totally. Make them shot. These are brilliant plans guys, we should do this more.
The army are not trained as police, nor were they ever meant to be used in that role; domestic security is the job of a police force . . . if you want to see a coup occur in this country put the army in a policing role - too much power concentrated in one place! Then again they might do a better job than the crowd we have at the moment in Lord Leinster's House.
Agreed Andrea, only in Ireland, would the resources for law & order suffer when needed most.
And this government want to cut the number of guards here, it will be open season for the criminals both sides of the border. thoughts and prayers for the guards family, just a husband and father doing his job.
Rest In Peace, and may your family find some comfort in knowing they have the whole of Ireland and beyond in their thoughts and prayers.
Rest In Peace, a courageous man shot down and taken away from his family. I hope the scumbags who did it get life!!!!
Only in Ireland would the Police force numbers be cut when the rate of crime is increasing!
I can't say I have noticed. Maybe statiscally but not actually. Maybe Cork don't have it on the level Dublin does. It's really bad up here.
I LIVE IN ARGENTINA AND BELIEVE ME, CORRUPTION , CRIME AND THE "BLINDNESS" OF JUSTICE ARE INNACEPTABLE. OUR HOUSES ARE PRISONS,ALL SOURRENDED B Y BARS AND CRIMINALS ARE FREE BECAUSE THE "LAW" PROTECTS THEM.
unfortunately it is true, I also live in Argentina, I feel so much trizteza going
The issue here may be bigger than first realised. An unarmed man shouldn't be required to take on armed thugs.
He was armed. he got out of his car to investigate the suspicious car. they shot him before he even got a chance to draw his weapon. initial reports from the Garda HQ were that he never got the chance to draw it or use it. its a shocking horrific crime and i hope those b''''stards rot in hell.
I hope that when these scum are apprehended that the Gardai/PSNI are armed to the teeth and give them the same chance that they gave Detective Garda Donohoe.A life sentence in an Irish prison is too good for the murdering bastards.
' Something is rotting in the state of - IRELAND.... '
