As a person with a Oliodendroglioma we are the silent majority of people with a brain tumor. We have a good survival percentage but with current technology a zero percent "cure" rate. I will have it the rest of my life. My goal is to die of old age. Plus basically no research fir treatments is used for our brain tumor type yet more of us are alive than people with a GBM. Our LTD time is to long to develop a good medicine data wise. heck one that was tried on a GBM may be successful on Oilios but they never tried.

I used to have such beautiful hair. Small, compared to watching everybody in my support group die around me I know. But my hair is only the most recent thing this disease has taken from me. Precious memories, the ability to multi-task, the sense of security when I look at my little boy. So much of who I thought I was is gone and The constant threat of death every three months (MRI.) How can I expect to beat something nobody ever does? Please, please fund more research. It is a silent and deadly killer.

We still have feelings, we are human. Yes, we have had many fallen warriors, but you still have feelings you're human. Fears, sadness, feeling of loss and the list can go on and on. Our lives have been changed drastically and they will never go back to they way they were, and that's hard to deal with.

Karen i have just been recently diagnoised with a small 7mm Meningioma. This is all new to me. I have MS and while I was having an MRI for my MS they found this tumor. They are going to leave it alone at the moment and watch it to see if it grows. I am really nervous just knowing something is in my brain that should not be there. I see where you and a lot of your family members also have Meningionas. Did the tumors have to be removed in all of you. Guess just scared and wanted to hear...

Hi Debbie: Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Everyone is different depends on location, size and if you are having any cognitive problems. My Mom's was discovered when she was diagnosed w/end stage ovarian cancer, we did nothing about hers. My Aunt was 90 yo with other health problems, and didnt have any symptoms, just watched hers. My Sister was having seizures and her MNG was huge, plus she had few other smaller MNGs, she has had 4 surgeries and gamma knife radiation to keep her's in...

My Sister was having seizures and her MNG was huge, plus she had few other smaller MNGs, she has had 4 surgeries and gamma knife radiation to keep her's in check. I was having cognitive problems which eventually led to discovery of my MNG, I've had 2 surgeries. We discovered a new MNG a few yrs ago and are just watching it for now, I may opt for a lil radiation to kill it before it can grow any larger. Please get yourself to a Experienced Brain Tumor Center to keep monitoring it. MNG's generally are slow-growing tumors. There are tons of MNG Warriors out here, check out Meningioma Mommas, Brain Tumor Survivors & Brain Tumor Talk facebook pages so you can connect with so many of us. Also go to www.braintumor.org to get facts about your specific type of tumor. Lots of good info out there, and lots of good people willing to share. Best of Luck to You, K
