In 2009 I was diagnosed with 2 meningioma brain tumors. I had 2 Craniotomys 2 weeks apart & 6 weeks of radiation as they were not able to get all of them. I have 1 on my optic nerve & 1 on my sinus cavity. I am now almost blind in 1 eye, & think slower than before. I have to get MRIs every 6 months to keep an eye on them. I am extremely grateful that I am still here with my family & that after 3 years they are not growing.
Unfortunately, they don't do anything to reach a solution to stop cancer..On personal levels, sincere doctors found a solution away from the big medical organization who are run by pharmaceutical firms. They are the future of modern medicine.
sim...quero sua cassação, não é digno deste lugar....
I lost both of my parent's to Glioblastoma..All within a 4 year span..Something has got to be done to make research a higher priority..
I'm living with 3 BT's the one they are watching most is the one on the brain stem, at present they have all started growing again, I was told 3 years ago that the brainstem one is inoperable, and due to the NF1 that is causing it radiation would cause them to grow aggressively instead of shrinking them, now thye have changed everything, and I want a 2nd opinion. and am getting sarcasim from my Dr about it. I am at my wits end. Please, please due more research on brain tumor/cancer.
We need to help eliminate this disease not keep it going and changing because it employs people...
I lost my father to a brain tumor....no one should have to die in this manner.
Any typeof cancer is a serious issue. I am a survivor of stomach cancer in which I was told I would not make it through. My mom remained by my side the entire time. Without her love and support, I really don't think I could have made it through even the worst times. Thank you mom! Please let there be a cure for all cancer someday. Cancer is extremely and indescribably painful! We have great technology out there in medications, equipment and trial studies.
As a person with a Oliodendroglioma we are the silent majority of people with a brain tumor. We have a good survival percentage but with current technology a zero percent "cure" rate. I will have it the rest of my life. My goal is to die of old age. Plus basically no research fir treatments is used for our brain tumor type yet more of us are alive than people with a GBM. Our LTD time is to long to develop a good medicine data wise. heck one that was tried on a GBM may be successful on Oilios but they never tried.
Thank you for your signature, and helping raise our voice for awareness.
I have an Oligodrenglomia gr.2 also, you're right about our tumor type :-( that's why I started this. Hopefully it will make a difference for others :-) God Bless
your on virtualtrials.com also correct? Al Musella is the best supporter of brain tumor research anywhere.
No, but I will be...LOL..thanks!
me too I survived the same thing 2 surgeries 30 radiation treatments & 1 year Procarbazine PCV
2 1/2 Years Speech therapy.
Brain Cancer Sucks! I watched my brother die from it and it was horrible. I pray for every one who has this dreadful disease. I pray for a cure not only for this cancer but ALL cancer.
