How dare they go on break and leave the country in this condition. Voters should wake up and throw theses bums out of office.

I hope when it is time for their Congress-person re-election the people remember their senators. This is not the time to filibuster when the country is in crisis.

I'd like to suggest an option: let your legislators know that they are personally liable for any debt that they have voted in favor of creating and any other legislation that causes the public harm (financial, emotional or physical). It's a simple concept and has precedent being used against CEO's of corporations who have caused harm to the share holders. It would be valid to apply this precedent to elected officials since they are entrusted with a fiduciary responsibility to the people....

Sadly many if not most have forgotten that they are in office to represent living breathing people.

I worked 22 years at my job. I had 2 weeks off per year, with no pay. But when I took these two weeks off, I made sure my work didn't suffer from it by assigning someone to do the job while I was gone. Nobody paid me for being gone.

No pay checks either. Since they can't accomplish a damn thing theft shouldn't be wasting taxpayer money on themselves. The rest of us would be fired if we performed at this level and should be. Recall the entire House.

Congress should not be paid until they pass a budget and a plan to eliminate the deficit.

Yes the overpaid politicians need to learn from their constituents! No effective work - No Pay! When I was an Occupational Therapist at Rehabilitation centers I had to run between 85% and 95% productivity [billable profitable time for the company] -- If I did not I was financially penalized. Health care is a pain -- so I now work online from home and blog a lot about it. www.DrJill-Blog.com

I am not going to take the time or energy to comment further than to say I am 100% disappointed in that we are playing right into the hands of the politicians. They know where they stand. They know the voters are all talk. The don't pay attention to the media, only to the voters. When the voters don't act, the politicians are comfortable doing what they want. Speak now or forever hold your peace.
