I think that it is totally irresponsible for them to break now. They are violating the trust that we Americans have put in them. They have the nerve to vote themselves a raise then go on break?

Everyone in the government needs to grow up, and this include congress, and the President. Act like adults and quit throwing temper tantrums. Just because you don't get your way you take your toys and go home and make the very people who pay you suffer, I don't think so!

When we were kids we were taught to play nice with each other. Congress go back to your roots, play nice and fix this mess that YOU caused. No longer can you push this off on prior administrations! Put your enormous egos aside and pass a bill that will not hit middle class working Americans. When I can't balance my checkbook I can't go to my employer and ask for more money because I have more bills than money for a pay period. You just go to the taxpayers. We can no longer support all of...

When I can't balance my checkbook I can't go to my employer and ask for more money because I have more bills than money for a pay period. You just go to the taxpayers. We can no longer support all of your social give away programs. So cut your budget, pass a salary cut for youselves because you sure aren't giving the people what they're paying you for, put yourself on social security like everybody else etc. If you don't there is going to be an uprising in this country and it is fast coming as you are pushing your middle class to the breaking point

Most companies look at termination of employment when an employee doen't perform up to expectations. Any ideas? We have facilitated by allowing another term of these morons! It'll take a revolution or impeachment to ever fix this mess we call our administration!

It would be ideal, and fair, if Congress was paid commensurate with what they accomplished. First, their pay should be no more tha 125% of the national average of worker's pay, excluding executives, CEOs, professional sports and any other absurdly and obscene salary. Then, if our gross national product increases, then they would get a raise equal to the cost of living. Their pay would be based upon beind present and active in debates, discussions and voting. If they were prent for 80% of the...

Then, if our gross national product increases, then they would get a raise equal to the cost of living. Their pay would be based upon beind present and active in debates, discussions and voting. If they were prent for 80% of the time and votes, their pay for that period would be 80% of their potential pay. Congress (and the president) should pay into Social Security and receive the same benefits that We, the People hope to receive when we retire. Congress and the President should be in the same Health Care programs thar We the People will be mandated to partipate in. Congress should not be wined, dined and giftrd by lobbyists. If We the Peole accepted those Perks from someone trying to by our loyalty while we were trying to do our jobs, at best we would be taxed on them, if not charged with accepting bribes. I could go on, but let's have government do the job they were elected to do--provide a solvent government where everyone benefits from the work the government does and provides security and a safe and sane atmosphere for ourselves and future generations of Americans.
