ANYONE who would not only put out this torture device, but stand there with an obscene grin on their mug while animals writhe and scream in pain around them ought to be made to stick their freaking foot in such a trap and see if they still have that stupid grin on their face then!

Have you ever trapped. Do you know how utterly difficult it is to get an animal to come to your trap? Trapping is minimally detrimental to the ecosystem. As a trapper, I might tell you that I have gotten a hand or two caught in a longspring or jumpspring, but I have yet to break a bone doing so. Did you know that oftentimes animals can be released from steel traps with no harm done? Did you also know that many trappers use rubber grips to lessen damage to the animal's feet? The picture above...

The picture above is graphic, yes, but it was taken after dispatch of the animal. No hunter or trapper that I know revels in destroying life. In fact, they probably have a greater understanding and respect for nature than do those who oppose them because they live the majority of their lives in it.

Well Colton, if your against abortion don't have one. Women who have abortions have them for assorted reasons and none of them have to do with making a coat out of the zygote. Baby killing my ass.

Casey, do you really believe your own words? This is what scares me the most; people who actually try to rationalise the taking of a life as being a normal and justified action; like there is no room for discussion; that what hunters and trappers do is in the best interest humanity???? Where do we as humans have the right to determine what's best when other lives are involved? I don't see a very positive track record so far.

I have been part of a national movement to ban traps for over 43 years. Traps are considered to be one of man's most fiendish and disabolical inventions known to man. This has to be stopped now - forever - and we must fight until it happens. Anyone who does this is just simply inhumane and totally evil.

When the colonizers came to Turtle Island there were egocentric unethical resource thieves that saw their selfish actions as being necessary for progress. These unsustainable consumers were (and still are) incapable of seeing their actions as harmful to everyone else. An example of this are nut gatherers who would rather cut down a Native American nut tree to harvest the nuts, than shake the tree or climb it to harvest the nuts. They did so because they saw this as a win win. They get to steal the nuts (culturally necessary for Indigenous people) AND hurt Native Americans.....The same reason why the colonial military killed off the buffalo, and fishers overfished our salmon. This is the same principle behind wolf hunters...No matter how much scientific proof you provide them that wolf hunting hurts ecosystems (trophic cascades), no matter how large the majority of Americans HATE wolf hunting and disagrees with it, No matter how much proof that wolves do not snatch children off of porches, or that wolves DO NOT harm livestock compared to domesticated dogs or that farmers poor care for the domesticated livestock harm more cows than wolves, wolf hunters will choose to kill wolves because it hurts Native Americans...It is their reason for breathing, just as the deaths of our brother wolves is related to the murder of our people, wolf hunters love to kill what they fear, noble, strong and culturally significant wolves, and strong Indians....IDLE NO MORE

Totally sick action to trap ANY animal, its inhumane, causes pain, would YOU like it to happen to YOU, or one of YOUR family, imagine them gnawing a leg off to try and free themselves, watching sinew and blood coming out of a limb, imagine the immense pain they would suffer, then probably dying after with trauma and shock, if not that dying in agonizing pain and suffering whilst in the trap, INSTANT BAN on trapping, can we put traps all over your lawn, then watch you get out of one?

Those people who put out these traps should be made to feel first hand how painful these traps are. It should be made mandatory for all trappers to spend at least 6 months to experience for themselves every type of traps that are being manufactured... Then see if they still want to trap animals.

There is no greater torture for a wild animal than to be trapped......they suffer the physical pain that the trap, itself, causes; they suffer the psychological pain of being separated from their offspring and families; they suffer dehydration, starvation, exposure to other predators; exposure to the elements---until their nemesis appears in a few days, a week, a couple weeks......to savagely and brutally take their lives...

Well said...Linda. These poor creatures will often times, try to chew their own leg off, to escape the trap. Can you imagine how horrific that must be?! But...that is how desparate they are to get free.
