My grandson was in the NICU in Ms. for 7 weeks. I was able to be with him everyday for hours because it was so close to home. It made such a difference in his recovery ! If we were later than normal getting there for our visit, the nurses said he'd get fussy. And many times we'd come in and his crying would stop the minute he'd hear our voices. YES YES YES, IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE ! Ya'll are in our prayers
My nephew was born 14 weeks too soon, and our family will never forget the amazing care and love provided by the NICU staff in Wilmington, Delaware (Christiana Care Hospital). My nephew is now a healthy and happy toddler :) I have signed this petition, and will urge everyone I know here in NY to do the same. I wish you the best of luck with your cause.
Thank you...we need all the support we can get and appreciate yours!
Awesome place, my brother is the Medical Director at Christiana Care. Was so happy to see you adopted Spike, now Buddy?
Sounds like it is all about money. This is not the first time human lives come last in our system. I hope you get the signatures you need, and a new Governor.
I am a mother of 3 premature babies my son passed my last girl was in for 2 weeks and due to the fact if that baby drops one ounce one bad feeding and they have to start over on a 2 week process of progress one mistake puts them and family back again. The family being with them and having the bond can make that difference of that child not failing one day or at least the hope we all have for our child or anyone else's. Nurses do great with attention but parents love helps at 2 days 2 years...

Over 1000 signatures and still going strong...THANK YOU ALL for your amazing support!
My Precious little girl was 10 weeks early and stayed at Willow Creek. I was so grateful for her being able to stay close, so I was able to see her every day of her seven week stay in the NICU. The nurses and staff there were amazing and very helpful in letting me be a part in her care. It is very important for the all these babies to have their family. Please sign the petition so other babies and families have the same opportunity.
Governor Beebe, my question to you is this: WHY do you think this is a good move? The level of care the affected hospitals give is as good as UAMS and ACH. Sometimes there are cases when it is best to ship a baby to them, but not for every baby. Just shipping them is an added risk. Where does UAMS and ACH propose to put these babies?
These facilities stay at near capacity now. Add this new work load, and where do you put them for the 3 months, which is minimum time for most, they will be...

It is not just the hospital I work at that is hurt by this, but the many families across the state that will be affected. How can you do this to families and babies? As has already been stated, our doctors were ignored by you and the "powers that be."
Parents have to bond with their babies in the NICU because there is no other choice! Twenty one years ago I gave birth to my Natalie Kaye, weighing 1 lb 3 oz ~ we were with her everyday & she stayed in the unit for almost the first year of her life! Then fourteen years ago I gave birth to my Kerianne Nicole, weighing 2 lbs 8 oz ~ she only spent six weeks in the unit but that is where we bonded on a daily basis! Natalie went to Heaven in 1998 and her little sister was born in 1998 and an...

Hi. My 2nd grandson was born at only 24 wks. The bonding period for mother & baby is very very important.
