I need more information on this Petition before I sign it.....I don't think Kate would have survived without being in LR. Although Willow Creek is a good NICU...there are things that LR has that they just don't. I would have stayed in LR for as long as she needed to be there....although it was hard to be away from home, being where she needed to be was more important.

We do, and would continue to ship infants to LR if they needed services we couldn't provide, such as surgery, etc. However, if hid is pushed through, ALL INFANTS LESS THAN 28 WEEKS GEDTATION WOULD HAVE TO BE SHIPPED, regardless of whether or nog Willow Creek could meet their needs.... and we care for plenty of. 22-28 week premies now....

As a grandparent of a two that had to be in NICU, it was so great to be able to come and feed my granddaughter, and be with my daughter and her husband when we lost her older sister. We have a hospital who built a special NICU, it made semi-private rooms for each baby and family, the nurses station was in the middle, and circled around were rooms, it was the best thing for the babies and Families. Please they need the one on one with their parents, or and family member who can come and hold these babies.

My great granddaughter Emma Marie Shelley was born at UAMS Little Rock July 18, 2011, and stayed there 94 days. The hospital was well equipped to take care of her as well as her mother, Amanda Shelley. Emma's daddy Jesse drove the 3-1/2 hour drive from Fayetteville, AR to be with her for most of the stay. Today, Emma weighs 26 lbs, is 18 months old and she is running all over the place, playing with her toys, and repeating the words, "Good Girl" when she is following instructions. She is so loving to each of us, and we can truly testify, that the bonding which took place while she was in the hospital is what has made her such a happy little girl today. From the 2 lb tiny bundle of joy back then to the chunky little toddler she is today has enriched all of our lives with the knowledge that God is in the miracle working business!

We may have left Arkansas but my family and friends still there deserve the best available care for themselves and their future children. NICU's are very important and there should be one within an hours drive of everywhere.... I know that would be alot more of them being built and staffed but the families of the patients would gladly support even a small one in their area for the good of the children. They are our future, why not start them off with the best care possible when they truely need it?

Sounds like it is all about money. This is not the first time human lives come last in our system. I hope you get the signatures you need, and a new Governor.
