Hope everything will be fine for you and your family.
Randomly came across this and thought it was ridiculous! Signed and shared for you!
You deserve to travel to wherever will make you happiest!
Please don't hesitate to add Pauline Conboy as a friend if you would like to be updated on how she's doing and how the passport situation is going.
I've signed and e-mailed the "best selling international newspaper the sun - http://www.thesun.co.uk with a copy of the link. so hopefully they will be able to step up the pressure. Perhaps you could ring them and speak to them direct?
Thanks so much Claire!
This must be an infringement of Pauline Conboy`s human rights
Lets keep this going.
I hope everything works out in your favor! That is just absurd and so wrong!
Hi guys, the very best of luck with this petition, I have shared it on my Fb page and I hope it will add to the numbers signing this petition. What an utter disgrace, I hope the passport office come their senses quickly!
i wish you all the best Pauline I have sent an email, it makes me angry that they are treating you like they are ,,,,,,,,
Please help bring our family back together <3.
Pauline's facebook page has just been disabled and she needs a copy of her passport to get it re-instated! She doesn't have a passport because she has been denied one! This is sick and insane!
Strongly suggest getting a lawyer involved. Many of us have been emailing TV, Irish and UK newspapers and Irish radio about this. Try [email protected] who advise on human rights issues, or look up another, ask for pro bono advice.
I mean no disrespect but how on earth do you need a passport for facebook? If she was denied the right to travel then she should actually get the police involved.
Hi Ruth, we did get a lawyer involved and basically the advice was to have Pauline made a ward of court, but that is only appropriate in a case where a disabled person has no family willing or able to look after them and the State is left to do it. This is absolutely not the case for Pauline... she has next-of-kin more than willing and able to look after her. I believe loving family should be allowed to take care of each other and the State should only step in IF they fail to do so properly.
Sarah De Sousa I think if someone files a complaint with facebook, they disable the page and their first criteria for an appeal is govt issued ID such as passport or drivers license. I realize faceboo have to react if they get a complaint but I also think they should investigate why the person complained... Pauline's page was giving her a voice she would not otherwise have.. the person who complained obviously does not want Pauline to have a voice... so all I will say is... shame on them!
Liam Conboy Sounds like discrimination against a disabled person. Facebook are ridiculous
hi liam find a lawyer pro bono and get him to take this case to the court of european rights go on breakfast tv, news get help from disability groups to help promote your sisters case good luck to you x ps how about e mailing mark zukkerman at facebook head office in america and explain to them
Thanks Andrea... some great ideas there that I will definitely try... A top Irish newspaper is considering running the story this sunday so that should be a BIG help!
I think it's totally disgusting that Pauline is being denied the right to a passport, I hope all the people supporting your cause will help put enough pressure on the authoritys for her to receive her passport and your family are reunited very soon.
