Lovely comment Ellen... thank you and I agree... little bureaucrats don't have nearly the power they like to think they have.... just as well too as they can't be trusted to do the right thing as they have displayed... not only in this case... but time and time again!

People with disabilities should not be refused access on any form of transport public or otherwise, as they are human beings that have the same rights to be treated with courtesy, dignity and respect as you or I. Just because someone many looks different to you or anyone else does not give anybody the right to discriminate, and bearing in mind they are a paying customer too, are entitled to a high standard of service, and a safe journey without incident. Just because someone many looks different to you or anyone else does not give anybody the right to discriminate, and bearing in mind they are a paying customer too, are entitled to a high standard of service, and a safe journey without incident. I have met a number of people over the years with Downs Syndrome, and I would never treat them with nothing less than 100%, courtesy, dignity, respect, and good manners!, as I would like to be treated myself.

I have a sister and a son with Down syndrome, both travel internationally between Africa, Europe and the USA freely, without discrimination and are most often the best behaved, most enjoyable passengers on the flight. If my Sister and Son could not travel, my family would be divided too, family holidays, reunions, weddings, and events would be entirely incomplete. They are essential members of our family and have to be with us just as my parents and my brother and my uncles and cousins do....

No-one external to the family has the right to decide they cannot travel or be with their family, that is abusive. If the family takes responsibility for their expenses and care along the way...who in the world is to complain or restrain. My son is extremely independent as are many people with down syndrome. Travel and family time enables and enriches everyone's lives, we should promote it.

If, this is true, she needs to get it out in the news in Ireland. She needs to seek a lawyer who deals with discrimination and also the disabilities commission. She can ask for one who will do it pro bono. Get in on the news in Ireland.

I have not read the story the title say's it all.
What happened to such key word like Inclusion, Equality, without prejudice, and acceptance. How can we have pervitions for animals to travel, yet not allow a human being, who is not a threat to any one nor a treat to herself. and from my knowledge and experiance with numerous beautiful persons such as this lady here.
I am besides myself.
If there's any justice in the world this woman should be offered a seat at no cost for the inhumain way...

Socialists demand an end to job cuts, the decimation of public services and the scapegoating of minority groups such as the disabled.

It is capitalism that is disabling them; and as well as united action by groups promoting rights for people with disabilities, alongside trade unions, they are more and more seeking out a political voice that speaks for them too.
