Here we all are in 2014, Japan has been a technologically advance nation for many years but amongst this backdrop the Japanese People continue with this Barbaric Torture and Murder of Sea Mammals that do not belong to Japan but are creatures of the world. By allowing this disgusting practice to continue and with most of the Civilised world against this Japan now finally needs to consider its place in the world community: Your neighbours do not like what you are doing, the neighbours may now...

By allowing this disgusting practice to continue and with most of the Civilised world against this Japan now finally needs to consider its place in the world community: Your neighbours do not like what you are doing, the neighbours may now decide to stop purchasing and trading with Japanese Companies the offset being that the Japanese Economy badly suffers. Please Stop this barbarism and clean up your Nuclear Industry which is poisoning the world:

agree this should be stopped and so to all the other nations who slaughter dogs and cats for there fur and meat and done just as inhumanly and to the other countries who have there disgusting and cruel fur farms and to the yanks for allowing bear baiting, metal traps that cause excruciating pain, the English for badger culling fox hunts etc Aust for sending live exports to be tortured by blood thirsty cretins, I think the dolphin and whales are a good start

Before I consider signing this petition then I need to ask if these 'hunts' are for a resource for food?

food, yes, by blinding the public on high mercury content of the meat, please take a look at "the Cove"

At one time yes.Now there is hardly anyone that eats them, due to the high mercury content. Now it is to catch more to put into tanks for captivity. Marine parks all over the world. Its about greed now, Sea Shepherd Cove Guardians is a good place to start to see what this is about. Ric O'Barry Dolphin Project.

The profits from trading their 'dolphin' commodities into a lifetime of captivity and performance is what predominantly drives this hunt.

Taiji has some captivity trades. There are 7-8 other towns hunting dolphin and whaling purely for food. Taiji only accounts for 15% of the total catch, and out of this 15%, less than 8% are taken as captivity.

The very same country that brutally massacres entire families of many, many, species of cetaceans and now wants to force them to "entertain" during the Olympics? Thousands of people see what's wrong with this picture. Japan should not even be considered to host the Olympics based on their blatant disregard for the whales in the Southern ocean sanctuary, let alone the slaughter of sentient wild animals that do not belong to Japan. I would say that the arrogance and greed is unsportsmanlike...

I would say that the arrogance and greed is unsportsmanlike behavior, and demonstrates the lack of concern for the rest of the world's view. I won't be watching the Olympics in Japan, I am not entertained.
