WE must know every thing about those armed thugs who are building in the site! where did they come from and what is there problem? I know one of the chief inspectors of the site and he is also a local inhabitant of the neighboring village. I don't think those people can be that bad......who is behind all this?

The Ministry of Antiquities, claims it is "dealing with the issue" and the land will be taken back, but to every crisis, Ministries say, "we don't have the budget to deal with this. Meanwhile, in Al Hayat today, the headline is "Egyptians threaten to destroy Senefru pyramid". good coverage on CBC, ON TV and others getting involved. Islamic declaration that what these people are doing is not wrong. The people, themselves say they are only extending the practises of their ancestors of burying their dead in the desert. But this is prime archaelogical land and the enclosed courtyards will allow for free digging. already, the desert out there is full of holes. A political issue? Of course, because it's a national issue that the people living in the valley cannot expand into the desert because these lands are the property of the army and no one has thought this through. Instead, our govt is focusing on taking photos of unveiled women out of school textbooks. So, spread the word, talk to all the important people. If you know someone in UNESCO, they have huge project for the development of Dahshur and yet, we've heard nothing from them about this.
