I want to know what Michael Landsberry's feelings were on arming themselves at school. Michael was the teacher murdered on the job in Sparks NV last week. He was an ex-marine who would have understood the importance of being able to defend himself, as well as a teacher. I'm thinking if he'd had a weapon on him he may have had a chance. I don't know. I'd like to know his thoughts.

We are all too eager to point our fingers at guns! Guns don’t kill; cowards and idiots kill innocent people. We
have to point our fingers in all directions that are just as guilty, like the motion picture industry, the entertainment industry, video games, authors, the legislation that took away the teachers right to correct children, the governments interference with prayer in school, the country’s economic conditions, the media for over publishing and biased journalism, etc. It is time we...

It is time we step back and look closely at all problems with society and stop blaming just guns. We have not been teaching the basics from a young age and that is respect for one another, common sense and love of life. We see so much violence on TV's, movies, and the games that are being given to our children for entertainment (some parents do not accept responsibility for their children and turn them loose with violent games that lead their children to believe that there is nothing wrong with killing other people) to get them off their backs instead of taking the time to teach them and play games with them. There was a lot of complaints regarding movies and games several years back that were left alone because of the monetary impact on the entertainment industry (but the entertainment industry and media are now one of the main complainers about guns while trying to divert their role in altering people’s minds that help lead to the violence by saying it is the guns that are killing people)! The politicians or media will not question the movie industry as to why they have to have such violent movies for monetary gain instead of thinking what it does to persons with the wrong intent.

Please people, lets not forget that this is for good. No agenda here. I group of people who have to deal with the loss of a child. What they want is for us to all come together so that hopefully noone else will ever have to feel the pain that they will the rest of their lives. It is a promise to out children and our grandchildren and others to come to try and make our world a better place. If you have negative comments I would rather you keep them to yourself. This needs to be a place of hope, peace and most of all LOVE... LOVE WINS!

Oh and if you go back to school uniforms and put in metal detectors, make classes smaller, promote GOD in school, you will see a different world.. With uniforms all are the same, no reason to kill for shoes, with metal detectors catch the one that has an anger issue, small classes, better able to teach, to love, to assess the students, MORE GOD Well, a loving world. So I am doing what I can--Promoting GOD-- I believe that God is the only effective change!

I am for doing what I can to prevent this kind of violence. I do not support gun control however, I do support REAL background checks, more Officers in schools, Locked school buildings. and keeping all public out of the schools --even your mother, brother, son Unless they are working their or going to school there. Our world makes us have to lock the doors. So LOCK THE DOORS already.

Honestly, if you don't have something positive to say, why say anything at all. This is a first step to the search for ways to stop something like this from happening again. That can only be a good thing. Love can win, if we are willing to talk, and more importantly, listen.

I watched the towers go down on television in my classroom that day with my students. They thanked me for that years later. 9/11 was an incredible sad day; common sense, though, went out the window when we went to war. It cost us. We're still paying for it. Sandy Hook for me is even sadder. Children. A mentally ill person. Evil. Matricide. Guns that kill many in the blink of an eye. We can do better as a country in so many ways. The sky is not falling. The guns the killer used were for the sole purpose of killing. And they did that. Those guns should not be available for so many reasons. The sky is not falling. The time is long overdue for changes in our country. I stand with the grieving parents. We can do better. We can be better. It all depends on what we collectively do next that matters most.

You promise to do WHAT? I don't see anywhere on here, or on the website, where there's a detailed plan of action about what you hope to do. How can I sign up for something if I don't know what I'm signing up for. This reminds me of Obamacare... we have to pass it so we can see what's in it.
