This was a very sad event and hoping it don't happen again to anyone

I see no reason for an average citizen to own military or assault

I read and re-read this before I signed it. I will not give up my right to own a gun. I will do what I can to prevent further violence. I am in school to be a Psychiatic NP and one thing that did come from this tragedy was the attention mental health issues and the loss of funding for mental health treatment received. I cry even now as I read this, it was heart breaking to the world.

I live in Australia and you cannot own a firearm unless you have a licence to own one and its is getting harder to get one we had a called Martin Bryant kill alot of people now we had gun laws in place yet he still got his hands on one no human should own a gun unless they belong to a gun club oe live on the land that's it why own one to protect yourself that's what the POLICE are for and I for one say in my country say they do a great job....

Yes, we most-certainly need better mental health..yet no one has a fact-based prove on why citizens of this great country have a need for automatic weapons yet?? Oh yea...if you dont like life here...try living in another country!

I am signing this petition, and I will do anything I can to help make our schools safer for innocent children, but I DO NOT believe in banning guns or taking them away from law abiding citizens. removing them from the hands of good people, who only want to protect their families will do NO good. Criminals DO NOT care if their weapon is illegal. They intend to do harm and spend their life in prison, or die. Criminals DO NOT care if their weapon is illegal. They intend to do harm and spend their life in prison, or die. They do NOT follow the law and no matter what kind of laws they impose on the U.S., criminals will ALWAYS get guns. If they can't, they'll make bombs. Then, instead of 26 innocent children dying, an entire school will be dead. People that want to kill will not lose the urge because guns become illegal. If anything, there needs to be mental health services available to EVERYONE, and there should be a law put in place that anyone found to have a mental disability is REQUIRED to seek treatment, or be prosecuted. just sayin. sane people don't kill innocent children.

I find it most interesting, no, FACINATING that it appears to me, that a great number of people with guns are familier with the 2nd amendment, but not the "We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestice Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the...." I'm sure there are drinking laws in the U.S. prohibiting minors to buy booze....could the states make up laws RE buying bullets and priceing them a minumum of $4.00 a bullet...come on, give it a try. You'll still have your gun and existing ammo.

I won't be signing either....the first thing that happened was a meeting of the victims to further enhance existing gun laws. Frankly, I believe we should allow EVERYONE to carry guns----then, at least we would know for sure that the law-abiding citizens are carrying! Perhaps THAT would cause criminals to hesitate....knowing we all have weapons!
I am a retired teacher.....who greatly sympathizes with the families here....but unless I have a direct say in what will transpire---I no longer...

Too many laws...too many people in authority....to many people running our lives.
