The person who pulled the trigger broke 25 laws. The gun was his mothers, and she didn't secure it properly and was the first one shot. Another law will be broken by perps. Notice the same thing in all these shootings; The bad guy was the only one with a gun. Back round checks are not done on someone before they steal a gun. People who lost their right to drive for whatever the reason, some still drive. Hou about the person with 8 DUI's. Making another law won't stop anyone. The gun is only...

Guns kill people like spoons made Rosie ODonnell fat. How about enforcing the gun laws that are already on the books.

Why should we show the numbers of people who protest the unconstitutional process to impeach the Chief Justice (CJ) of Sri Lanka? Simply because the Government is abusing the mandate given by the people as some weapon to ignore the rulings of the supreme court. Why should we show the numbers of people who protest the unconstitutional process to impeach the Chief Justice (CJ) of Sri Lanka? Simply because the Government is abusing the mandate given by the people as some weapon to ignore the rulings of the supreme court. People's mandate has been abused to an extent that the Government believed that the parliament is sovereign, thus the Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) sessions could be withheld from the public, when in fact the the people of Sri Lanka are the custodians of Sovereignty. Behind closed doors, some Government members of the PSC verbally abused the CJ with filthy language. By signing this petition, lets tell the Government that we did not give a mandate to humiliate the judiciary like this, and that we demand for rule of law, respect for the independence of the judiciary, human rights, and to respect the Supreme Court's interpretations of the constitution.
Sri Lanka"s law and Judiciary in danger........ruler's and Executive presidency purposely Violated constitution.... we ar invite world community to help us to make voice against these violations....please sign this petition and help us.......http://www.causes.com/causes/640621-help-fight-against-human-rights-democracy-violation-in-sri-lanka/actions/1713441.

Sorry, but this far it appears to have been a staged event. I'm sure it was well done, but the crisis actors have had plenty of practice.

I believe that we need to identify the root cause of this problem as this is not the first time there has been such kind of traumatic incident and innocent children and adults have been killed. I am sure there were symptoms from the shooter given to his family and friends that went unheeded. Let's dialogue as to what kind of emotional pain and anger and hopelessness and helplessness and low self-worth and many other emotions could bring a person to the point that they choose to act so...

I am sure there were symptoms from the shooter given to his family and friends that went unheeded. Let's dialogue as to what kind of emotional pain and anger and hopelessness and helplessness and low self-worth and many other emotions could bring a person to the point that they choose to act so unkindly and destroy so many lives including their own. Let's not just place a mental illness label on the shooter. Let's also seriously look at the role our gun laws facilitated this catastrophe. If the shooter had received what kind of help would he have not done this shocking and inhumane killings? What was going on in his life emotionally, spiritually, mentally, physically and financially to do this? How can people like that be helped? Also what could have been done in terms of greater security and protection for the children and the staff?

You are right on. The problem is not guns. The problem is crazy people. We keep talking about gun control as a way to stop the violence while, at the same time, we are cutting funding for programs that help the mentally ill. As long as we keep turning the crazies loose on the streets and manufacturing more crazies by sending them to war and refusing to treat thier PTSD when they're done, we are going to continue to have this problem, guns or not.

Don't sign this! They will use it to say that you support the taking of our gun rights. Make them enforce the laws already in effect. Speaking of that we have laws in place concerning entering our country if you are not a citizen. they don't enforce those laws even if they are caught with a gun no federal charges are usually applied and no deportation. We as legal citizens of this country that have obeyed the laws have the Constitutional right to own weapons and to defend ourselves and the Constitution.

There has to be a better way than the usual "gun" control. As they say put gun control on good people and only bad guys will have guns. We have to stop the under ground sale of weapons. We have to stop the diversion of guns on there way for melt down. We need proper safety devices on triggers. Safety cabinets. Maybe mental health checks before application for fire arms. Keep thinking!

James, did you feel like your rights were infringed when you had to take a drivers test before you got your drivers permit? You obviously hadn't given them any cause or reason yet for them to think you might get in an accident. How dare the government submit you to such abuse!
