Please sign the petition, I am a mother who's child is in prison , we made it through the twenty years being separated from the family. I was told he was mentally ill , they called it anxiety! You know our children are hard headed like we all were when children, but God forbid they start giving meds to our children in any form at schools.
I am not condoning the crime he committed , I am just saying black men are an endangered species! Please family sign this, the keepers of our children are still plantation owners, and they allow sick things to go on in the prison and they watch. how many and how much punishment do they need any crime and how can they get better or grow up if you keep allowing the guards to put their finger in there rectum anytime they decide they look suspicious. Don't get me wrong , I know some of the people in prison need to be there but black and white and brown and yellow crime is wrong! punishment is needed! We have to find better way! they are still killing us and the guards need to be checked and rechecked (background) that is. Never in my life would I believe guards have sex with prisoner:(:( just like the overseers did on the plantation. They say we are animals, come on where did this come from. Continued genocide! In side prison and Out we all have to stand up and educate our family! Now!

I am sorry also about your son's condition. However, please look into it about the meds he was given. You seem to think it started in school, but it also may have regressed within the prison system. I know this for a fact because I worked a short time as a secretary in a new prison system for a psychologist who prescribed medicine for inmates. I had to transcribe the reports that many of them gave her during the process of their condition while incarcerated. Several complained of the...

Several complained of the dillusional and detrimental effects of the drugs. I can't prove this, but there may be reason to believe that some of the drugs were experimental and being tried on inmates for "time off". This is another part of the study which the society may have to make in order to reform the prison condition on behalf of those incarcerated. Again, I pray for your son and those like him, and hope he is able to get the correct psychological help he needs when he is released.

I am also sorry to hear about your son, we as a people; because it's the right thing to do, stand together and bring about change...that's where it starts. Just because you are not affected today, does not mean it won't happen....just keep on living....life will reward you!

I don't get it! Some needs to be done, until we get together and take a stand on the high rank KKK members we will continue to loose our black men to their modernized slave trade, prison!

A prince/king must first see himself as such to act as one and be accorded the proper respect. We/YOU/I/ the individual must first see that power is theirs. This past presidential election should have dispelled any notion that you don't have power as an individual, don't forget to wield your power and wisely and effectively too! God bless.

Fairness and Honesty and Justice in all USA court systems, A person should be considered inocent untill proven guility. A person deserves this and is graniteed by the constitution. A skin color or a nationality can not play a part in court decisions. Only the true facts.

Here's another fact, even if you have evidence to prove you are innocent you can still be found guilty in their eyes. The judge will throw evidence out of court to aid you in being guilty.

Not to mention these small southern towns where judges prosecutors and some jurors are related. even in jury trials you don't stand a chance. This behavior has become even more evident since the nation has its 1st African American president. Did I mention that the defence attorneys here are in it also. Its very bad here in the rural south.

I agree on all points. My mother has worked in the juvenile justice system as a Victim's Advocate for close to 15 years. She is seeing more and more how juveniles (both the innocent and guilty) are becoming increasingly victimized by unfair sanctions, rulings and point systems designed to bring our youth closer to the adult court system. Right now, the System (that includes judicial, political leadership, police, big business and even social service agencies- i.e. mental health, human...

Right now, the System (that includes judicial, political leadership, police, big business and even social service agencies- i.e. mental health, human service, schools) is building youth detention centers (jails in disguise) and calling them youth study centers. And where is the System placing these so called study centers? You guessed it, right in the heart of low income neighborhoods. Their justification? These Centers will help to generate jobs for those that reside in the area.... I know of one such Center that is located blocks away from a predominately black high school. You wouldn't believe how clean and plush this place is. It has all kinds of amenities and approximately 100 beds for your children to rest their heads on. Now how do you think having a nice clean state of the art facility in the middle of trash strewn streets and abandoned houses will affect the residents of the neighborhood? In my opinion, ingrained community acceptance and desensitization to its very existence will follow.

Whatever happened to "NOT IN MY BACKYARD?" What has happened to our banning together as a people? I mean a real collective push for change? Who will hold the first banner in the middle of traffic? Who will write the first newspaper editorial in which to expose bureaucratic and judicial injustice? Who will whistleblow on police brutality and wrongful sentencing? It's petitions like this that BEGIN the process. Let's not lose momentum. Change begins in our homes and in our schools. Many disparities with judicial punishment generally begin in your very own neighborhood and in your children's schools. Make changes in the body of your neighborhood first and soon we should see real effectual change in order for our children to actually grasp a piece of the American pie, rather than dream about it. I would like to thank A Rodd Parks for turning me on to this movement. Ashe~

You want racism to end but yet I see yall calling white people honkey's and crackers. 85% of blacks voted for Obama and about half of that 85% can't even tell you why other than he's mixed. This man fired his gun into the air and got 20 years correct? In the state of Florida he would've got the correct sentence. I think you all need to look up your state laws. This reverse racism isn't going to help fix anything. Also Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are quick to jump on tv and shout racism when a white hurts/kills a black but where are they at when the blacks are murdering blacks in the ghetto everyday?

So you must know those 85% of blacks that voted for Obama, right? I'm going to take a leap and assume that you were once 18 years young. Did you make mistakes? Were you as wise as you are now? Have you done nothing in life that you wish you didn't? Can you try to imagine if one of those mistakes had cost you your life? Your youth? I'm not saying the boy was right for what he did, but 20 years seems a bit excessive if I say so myself. Since you referenced Florida you must be a occupant of it....

You say that 20 years would have been that way if he was there. The same state that freed that baby killer Casey Anthony. She walked but had he been there he would've been given 20 year. That strikes me as odd.

Latisha let's be real. Whites get away with so much that it seems like we are in a dream. There are people who have committed murder, my brother is locked up with them and they have less time then him, will get out before him when they came in after him. I met a woman whose God son killed 12 people and only got 12 years...REALLY??? So before you try to "wake us up" you may need to wake up yourself :)
