I am a former NY"er, we as a country,, have to stop helping everyone oversea, and strart taking care of our own now....Mayor Broomburg, I always felt you were the people's man...Please help these people, with winter coming...they need your help...think of alll those children, that won't have a Christmas Holiday , all they want to is to go home were it is safe and warm....
Here in SF we will know (and have known) all too well what NYC is going through. Watching the work of Occupy Sandy Relief through Facebook has been nothing short of inspirational. Keep the hub open!
I hope we in SF will find the same support and community when the big one hits. Simply by watching Occupy Sandy and all of the volunteers in post-Sandy hard-hit communities, I know I'll be inspired to follow suit when my neighborhood is affected. And know better than to rely on FEMA etc.
I grew up in NEW DORP BEACH please help these people.
how r u feeling ur not answering me
Sign and share. much love goes out to my neighborhood, stay strong cedar grove.
this is a crucial time in any coastal town in the usa we are not being heard at all. I am hoping that some one pays attention and very soon. we should unite and occupy city hall and get rid of lip service politicians...i am a product of the 60's were we tried peacefully to protest and this seems like it is time again to hold people accountable. staten island was a hard hit area and I see very little if anything being done to help them please sign and comment on their behalf.
Please sign this petition. What are the city thinking? Who is going to be there for these people if the volunteers are not?
Where's the great and so proud Red Cross? what bs organization! The food they serve is crap too.
peopel helping people in times of need..the ways things have been for centuries..good job! don't forget mike bloomberg is part of the 1%..out of touch and just wants to control people.....vote that guy out next term, no exceptions!
Why is the city doing this? You should be ashamed. Your bureacracy is not doing enough to help. All the mayor has to offer is that it will be cold and people should find other shelter? As usual, he has no idea about the lives of real people who are his constituents.
I liived in New Dorp Beach for many years and was there when we got the first Hurricane storm. We survived that, and I feel really bad for all the people in NY & NJ who are going through these sad and harsh timesl. It shouldn't bother you Mayor Bloomberg about these tents that are helping hundreds of people. You go home to a nice warm Mansion every night. Leave the tents where they are and don't shut them down. These people will suffer more hardships if they have no where to turn.
