I cried when I heard what that madman did. This should have never happened. I hope and pray that it never happens again. My heart goes out to the families of those that were killed, the children and the brave teaching staff. Disarming the citizen's isn't the answer. Controling mental illness and disarming the people that have no reguard for life is.

As a father and a public school teacher, I cannot look at my children or students without seeing the faces of those beautiful Sandy Hook angels. I cannot interact with my collegues without thinking of the Sandy Hook staff. My thoughts today amid prayers are that it is the culture of violence that must be addressed. The killing of children in Connecticut is no different from the killing of children in Palestine, Iraq, Afghanistan, or the slow death of children here due to poverty and lack of adequate healthcare. To me, it is horrifically logical that the most violent nation on Earth in its foreign affairs is also the most violent nation on Earth domestically (outside of an open war zone). We live in a greed based might makes right culture. We are taught from childhood to dehumanize others and to glorify violence. School shootings and deployment of cluster bombs have the same psychological and cultural root. We must heal this if we are to become a more wholistic, empathetic culture. I am completely for regulating the gun industry and gun control, but unless we shift from a "thing oriented society to a person oriented society (Dr. King)", unless we undo some of our fundamental cultural training, this type of tragedy is bound to repeat.

There's no debate on gun control. When our children are attacked it is the Government's responsibility to take action immediately. Abolish all guns and assault weapons in America. Make it a federal crime to own a gun, abolish gun manufacturers and the money makers who get rich while our kids are assassinated. Any less action is self delusion.

the United Nations killed these kids to further their gun control agenda. it was a political killing. your second Amendment stands in the way of the new order. Americans will not give up their guns so they must be coerced into doing so.. don't be fools people. the United Nations idea of security is they have guns and you do not.
