All those brave teachers and staff are worthy of honor!
I agree but to get the politicians off their tail ends, we must start somewhere.

***for your service
As a Disabled Veteran of the Korean era, I can not disagree with giving this teacher an award.
yes they are mr carl
According to an AP bulletin all 6 adults will get the award (posthumously) on February 15, 2013.
Well deserved! May you Rest in Peace! This could have been avoided if our leaders did something after Columbine....
What could they have done?????
hammers kill more peole via murder than all guns added together, not to mention swimming pools and auto accidents. I do however aghree with many of the recent suggestions that do NOT call for a ban on any freedoms. Those willing to trade freedom for security will get, and will deserve neither.
What a crock to say that hammer kills more people than guns. 30,000 people a year did not die from hammers. Get real
Why does your idea of "freedom" steal "freedom" and life from others?
Quickstartchessinstruction Goldthorpe Take the guns and people will use bombs. Knives kill a lot more than guns according to article in QC Times Newspaper.
People have a better chance of surviving a knife attack than an AR-15 rifle.
I live in Stratford, Ct and I had visited were Victoria is laid to rest as I approached the site I saw her mother in her car crying. no one should ever have to bury there children. from what I found out about Victoria she truly deserves this medal of honor and the President should present it to her mother.
My cousin, aunt and uncle were from Lordship. We all agree. She was a true heroine. That would be so nice for her family!
Jennifer....You are so right. No parent should ever have to bury there child. I buried my younest son on 12-3-04 exactly 3 days before his 33rd birthday. I guess the most diggicult time for me was havin to watch my son die over a three week period of time. He was involed in a motorcycle accident on 10-10-04, but his death didn't come until 10-29-04. The empty spot never leaves and you always feel a darkness. I am so sorry this woman is havin to go through this.
God is cruel to you
I agree...they all deserve this honor, and their families deserve all the comfort that they can get.
ALL the teachers and staff deserve the medal.
I agree with you Sir, but we should start with one and push for ALL of Them. Politicians might have screwed our country up, but America is not down and out yet.
My daughter's friend, Lauren Rousseau, was the other 1st grade teacher that was killed. Where's the push to honor her?
According to an AP bulletin, all 6 adults will get the award (posthously) on February 15, 2013.
Norma Audette Vinchkoski , according to AP bulletin, all 6 adults will get the award (posthumously) on February 15, 2013. That's what we all wanted!
i cant believe her name isnt included in the reward and recognition from the president. she is as much as a hero of anyone else. i feel they all derserve to be recognized for their heroism. anyone who tried to protect all those children are heros to me!
IF THIS EVENT IS ALL TRUE WHICH I'M NOT SO SURE ABOUT AT THIS TIME BUT IF IT IS ALL TRUE....YES SHE ABSOLUTELY DESERVES THIS AWARD! I BELIEVE THE GOVERNMENT WAS ALL IN THIS HAPPENING...SAD BUT YET POSSIBLY VERY TRUE! I WOULDN'T BUT NOTHING PAST THE GOVERNMENT...THEY WILL DO WHATEVER IT TAKES 2 DO WHATEVER IT IS THEY WANT 2 HAPPEN! IN THIS CASE THEY WANT 2 TAKE AWAY OUR GUN RIGHTS!
After watching a video that alludes to what you are saying I thought about it but right now I'm going with the fact that it's true and adults and children were murdered in cold blood. I RESPECT YOUR OPINION but as I stated, I believe it was a real and horrible situation.
I NEVER SAID IT DIDN'T HAPPEN...I'M JUST NOT SURE!!!! IT REALLY IS SAD THAT ME...BEING A US CITIZEN HAS 2 QUESTION MY OWN GOVERNMENT!!!! SAD...SAD...SAD!!!!
Your comments have no place here.
A real hero is someone who is willing to give their life for someone else. Our greatest hero is Jesus Christ himself.
John 3:16, No greater love in the world. Thank you Sir, for reminding us!
When will the American people see the video of Adam Lanza entering the school with his rifles. #never
She definitly deserves honor but so does the rest of the staff. The Principal ran after the gunman, children were found in the arms of the other teachers and aides. I say they all deserve honor. I'm sure Victoria would think no less as they were all a team.
Many if not all agree with you, but we had to have a starting point and hopefully they will all get the proper awards for their unselfish heroic actions.
its a crying shame all around
Of course Victoria Soto of Sandy Hook concerns ending gun violence. She is worthy of the Presidential Metal for her actions as an individual. She is also worthy as a great representative of the quality effort and risks taken by all teachers to bring quality education to our children.
My last petition but I hope it produces positive effects for Victoria Soto.
her memory is very deserving.
She died giving the best for all her students. Her mom lost a precious treasure but God used her to save those children. My prayers to his family and my gratitude to this mom that raised a beautiful and bless girl that shows everyone the truly essence of life, love.
So did Lauren Rousseau (the other teacher) and the principal and social worker and school psychologist. Lauren was my daughter's best friend. I know the kind of person she was.
According to an AP bulletin, all 6 adults will get the award (posthumously) on February 15, 2013.
Because of Victoria Sota, and other faculty members, The Pricipal, The School Psychologist, and many others, many student's lives were saved. I think these heroic people should get awards, and their names should go down in history for being heroes. Their memories should be kept alive for future generations because of the magnitude of selflessness of how they gave their lives for their students. What dedication! I think it is great that they are building a school in Stratford and naming it after Victoria Soto.
