I'm a security guard And I strongly believe schools Should have armed guards

I went to a public middle school and high school, and both had a school police officer that was on duty whenever school was in session. My elementary schools did not, however. A law should be passed that requires all public schools to always have an on duty police officer. Costs involved would pale in comparison to the security benefits.

Well, I don't think having a dedicated "guard" just standing around starring at the walls is the best way to go. They would likely just be the first target. It would be better to have several trained people with concealed weapons that are also regular school staff. It would be more of a deterrent like the air marshal system. You don't know who or how many, just that there is likely to be armed resistance against an armed attack. (and I would guess that given the number of staff in any given school, there would likely be at least a few that would voluntarily submit to back-ground check and special training for this.)

Our children should feel safe wherever they go. We all know that there are a bunch of monsters out their praying on our youth and it is our duty to protect them by any means necessary. Would you please be so kind as to take a few minutes to sign this petition, so our children can live in a much better place and also to give us a piece of mind. If we don't stand up for their protective rights, who will. Thank you!

I signed.....I say put a tax on these gun sales. Like cigarettes and the bad foods they have put tax on. Give the tax money to the schools to help them come up with programs for safety. Put in metal detectors in every school and have guards at every door.

I think this is a great idea, and mode of prevention. This way we are going to keep a safe enviroment where our children spend most of their days, and hours, and create more jobs.

Sadly we cannot keep our childre safe from crazy people bent on doing harm. There is nothing that anyone can say or do to console the families that lost their children in CT on Friday. My heart bleeds for them. I am a firm believer in our constitutional right to bear arms. There are millions of Americans who have guns and use them in a safe responsible manor. “They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.” ― Benjamin Franklin, Memoirs of the life & writings of Benjamin Franklin.
