Actually, I would feel better if there were two armed guards. One at each end of the school so that if one gets taken out, there is still another.
San for real?
soo soo sad that is has surcome to this for the school environment...how can we even call it "school" anymore when the first thing you have to see is a huge metal detector, then, the adding of armed guards...it's just tragic! There are alot of high schools w/big metal detectors. My kids attended Jonesboro High School & there is a big metal detector right as soon as you enter the only door unlocked out of 4 doors...here's the kicker...I have walked in that school on different occasions...

There are alot of high schools w/big metal detectors. My kids attended Jonesboro High School & there is a big metal detector right as soon as you enter the only door unlocked out of 4 doors...here's the kicker...I have walked in that school on different occasions while my kids were still in school & I NEVER waked thru the metal detector, walked right around it, I was curious to see if ANYONE would say "excuse me Ma'am, we need you to go thru the metal detector please"...NOONE said ANYTHING to me! NOONE! Another kicker...there is a table in the lobby as you enter that has at least 2 faculty members & there was a time when there actually was more than 2 people of faculty & even county police officer present & NOT ONCE DID ANYONE EVER MAKE ME GO THRU THE METAL DETECTOR! Honestly to what extent must we all go thru to keep our kids safe in school? Security measures & procedures are only as safe & good as much as they are actually practiced & followed thru on a consistent manner! Sadly this is the wold we live in today! My deepest PRAYERS for & CONDOLENCES to the 26 lives that were lost, the families hit by this horrific tragedy! GOD BLESS THEM ALL & HELP THEM HEAL! ~Stay BLESSED~
I would have gone straight to the office and said something. If it happened again..I'd go to the principal. If it happened again.....I go straight to the school board. There was NO excuse for that. That's why these awful things happen. It's a sick world :(
Yea, you know, it's been awhile since I had to go to the high school but, when I went for Chana's transcript, same thing happened!! I didn't think it would ever happen again because like I sad it's been a few yrs since I had to step foot there but, WOW, "3" yrs later & the same thing. I will call the school and say sumthing to bring to their attention as a parent.
I pray that the system will allow PRAYER (GOD) back in the school. When u take God out of things, it will leave it unprotect. PRAYER, PRAYER, PRAYER.
what's up cuz? happy year new haven't seen you in a long time
Hi Beverly, How r u? all is wel on my end. How is things down there?
agree, we send our children to school with thoughts they are kept safe, nothing should compromise that.
I want to keep my childern safe but is this the answer? Small town schools can have some stupid "officers" then what happens when they shoot one of our kids? I want to see the real problem fixed so this NEVER happens again, but more guns in school is not the answer.
I agree that there needs to be a better security system in place in our schools, but it needs to be a well thought plan.
I grew up next door to my 5th grade math teacher. I definitely agree. I signed.
Any law abiding citizen with a concealed carry license should be able to carry anywhere they go. The second amendment says that our right to keep and are arms should not be infringed. There is a period after the word "infringed". That means, gun free zones are unconstitutional. If abad guy wasn't sure who in the school is carrying a firearm, all in the school are safer. The best way to combat a bad guy with a gun are several good guys with a gun.
I agree with you in this cause. Shri Paul Sharma Advocate. mail [email protected]
