Only an anti American would sign a petition to take away our constitutional rights, you want to empower the ever encroaching police state with the authority to disarm the citizens?
Above is a much more practical approach, one that doesn't involve surrender....
The privilege of bearing arms has been abused and is turning our world into something our founding fathers never even imagined it to be. The constitution was created way before the problems we face today had arisen. it is time to make a change, our world is changing and so should we.
And what would you do with a gun in a police state, fight off the army ? Such nonsense!
The best protection against a police state is a military draft, since draftees are less likely to cooperate in an attempted military coup. I don't see that happening anytime soon, tho.
Reid Campbell I don't surrender to fear, even tho there are so many guns out there that we could arm every man, woman and child in the US, with plenty left over for Canada.
1626 signatures in 3 days. Depressing that so many people apparently think that anyone owning an assault rifle is a good thing. After all these mass shootings, now is the time!

Save lives and protect us harm by banning assault/automatic guns.
Gun control of all automatic guns - those are the killers of our children. This latest episode in Conn. is making all decent, peaceful people take another look, take action and get involved. Sign petitions, write letters. Our society has become numbed to violence - look at the movies and video games - the crap on the Internet. STAND UP - SAY NO MORE!
My brother has.
petitioned the White House to pass legislation that might have a chance to finally do something about guns in this country by allowing gun manufacturers, ammo manufactures and gun sellers to be held financially responsible for the death, injury and damage caused by their products. Please join me and sign the petition. Tell your friends! http://wh.gov/REi7
However, to quote Mr. Charles Pierce, "I am sorry to be cynical, but I decline to be otherwise for a while."
