I fully support this peitition!!! Animals have a voice but, the courts just refuse to hear it. It's time they be heard!!! Their screams of torment, abandonment, their scared bodies from systematic abuse and neglect. Their cries for help pierce my heart. Can't you hear them? Their tears are unbearable I can even see them in my dreams... can't you see them? The sadness in their eyes is unforgettable and their hope for a kind word and a gentle touch is written all over their face. Can't you...

Expressions on any victim of abuse, animal or man, is a universal phenomenon as is the expressions of joy, security and contentment … there’s no denying it, we’re all the same. Human or animal, their cries are universal, the horror of impending torture and the plea for help could come as a scream from a human or a whimper from a little animal. All that has the capacity to suffer the feelings of pain (emotional or physical) needs our protection. We as humans have the choice to act,

I have a question for Rhonda, Linda, & Don: Have you been a vegan all your life? I have not; therefore, should I be prosecuted, too - because "a life is a life"? Or do I get grandfathered into an amnesty program under your 100+% agreement to "prosecute just like (we) had abused or killed a human...(a life is a life.)" Or do your moral values not include pigs, cows, lambs, chickens, turkeys, fish, etc. Linda, there are five people pictured in your profile photo- are they all lifetime vegans...

Should we prosecute them if they have eaten meat (which necessarily entails abuse & killing of a "life"?

Gregory there is a difference between killing an animal for food and abusing or killing an animal "just cause". I have a friend who is a vegan and all she wants is for people just to be aware of what animals go through at factory farms and how there treated. You can't stop people from eating meat but you can at least treat them with respect even if they are going to die for others nourishment. But abusing and killing an animal "just cause" is completely different and should be treated like a...

But abusing and killing an animal "just cause" is completely different and should be treated like a crime. I don't know about prosecuting them like a human is called for but there should be alot steeper penalties then a couple yrs in prison and there definately should be an animal abuser list bc I don't wanna live next door to someone who has abused animals and wonder if I leave my dog outside is something going to happen to him or not.

Do you kill them abusively? Do you think it is fun? Do you have the ability to kill humans next? Are you shouting out for help from your psychiatric illness? Its not the same thing. We want to stop people who nailgun kittens to posts and drag dogs behind pickups for the fun of it and steal our beloved family pets.

Gregory Stuart There is a difference! I understand your question however this is more in regards to pets. If you happen to have a pet chicken that lives in your house, that you dress up, you feed you love and do whatever and someone comes in and kills it just because they can would you not want justice? I someone hurts your dog or cat badly and kills them or worse, would you not want justice? Would you not want people to know what he or she did so they never get a dog or cat to hurt and...

I am not vegan I do not eat a lot of meat. I don’t like it and the more I read about it the less appealing it is. There is a big difference, at least for me and many others, plus there is a way to do it and a way not to. However someone who abuses animals, a pet, that is different. For any human being to purposely inflict pain, severe ongoing pain, neglect, torture or yes even sexual abuse any animal for the purpose of pleasure or entertainment for themselves or for profit is not only unacceptable but not human and yes it should be punished adequately and sometimes yes a life for a life. To be able to cold bloodedly calculate and perform the horrific acts I see done to innocent animals, pets of all kinds, on a daily basis, without remorse sicken me and millions of other people and nothing, absolutely nothing but maybe a slap on the hand, if law enforcement even considers “worrying “ about an animal abuse case, is the punishment you see as a norm if any when, the sick thought process of any human to cause such pain without hesitation should be enough evidence that we are dealing with a sociopath who is the one that should be locked up for 72 hrs if that on the euthanasia list for “aggression” and being a liability to society instead of all these mislabeled dogs/animals that these labels are given to by people and then victimized again and murdered by people. That is what it is about!

Gregory there is a difference behind killing an animal in a dignified way for food and then beating and abusing an animal for no resaon other than ur on sick twisted mind. I'm not a vegan I eat meat all the time but yet I'm not gonna go down the street find a cat and burn it and kick it and stomp it to death because I think its funny those types of digraceful humans should be made to register as a animal abuser.

I understand your question about being a vegan, however, due to society we, as humans, have been raised to eat meat. Meat from cows, chickens, & pigs which is a part of life. What isn't a part of life is someone keeping a dog chained up outside all year long w/o feeding it or giving it shelter. What isn't normal is kicking a helpless kitten or fighting a pitbull

I used to be an animal control officer and experienced SO many horrific abuse cases. A slap on the wrist for beating a baby monkey with a large stick for stealing a cigarette, a kitten put in a microwave, starved dogs eating their own puppies to survive....non of these even went to jail. Arrested and released, a small fine, and a 'don't do it again'..YES I WILL SIGN THIS PETITION.

Small dog left in the back yard to freeze to death...ah, memory's of Dallas and their wonderful abilities to take care of their pets. My favorite quote from one of the county commissioners..."I don't like dogs. I'm more of a cat person". Wow how I don't miss trying to work with those heartless people.

omg Eric, that makes me so angry! I'm also a cat person, but I'd never leave any animal out to freeze! People like that should be stripped of their positions.

Anyone who harms another living creature is a danger to society. Now we need to examine what constitute abuse. If it is not okay to kill a dog or cat why do we (as a society) believe it is okay to kill a cow or pig? While we are working through that moral dilemma we should do all we can to protect those we can and severely punish those who break the law.

We're not talking about killing to survive (some believe we need animal flesh to survive, who knows). We're talking about abusing, malice and deliberate intent to hurt something that cannot defend itself.

Debra O'Neil

I have always felt an animal deserves MORE justice when abused or neglected because they do not have a voice. People who abuse animals do not have a place in our society because they are pure evil. How can anyone look into the eyes of a cat, dog, horse, etc. and abuse them or neglect them? To me, those people don't belong in the human race or anywhere else...Just dead.

animal abusers are just as sick as people who abuse kids, and other adults. yes they need to be registered and we should know where they are in our communities.

Prob is they get fines. All animal abusers shud get a mandatory 12 month prison sent for first time offenders. This wud help them think twice.
