I presume the person who has come up with this insane idea has never had to use the Scarborough Hospital A & E department...if he/she had, then they would never have dreamt this one up?

I've used it twice for my three year old and they were excellent. Different experiences for different people. One thing though, for all its faults, if it ain't there it can't be improved.

you can thank Dalton McGuinty for this, he is likely behind the closing of the Emergency Dept. after all he is the Premier, whoever voted for him, should sign this petition, because there the ones who put him in office, and look what he has done to us, god when is the next election, but i believe if memory reminds me, he is retirinig, now that he has sucked us all dry.

Why risk people's well-being and their very lives for the sake of money? We need to fund the NHS, not deplete it!

Please think of people needing emergency treatment, York 42 miles away, busy road and sometimes hardly passable in the winter snow and ice.Lots of lives could be needlessly lost.people are more important than money!

Please support this worthy cause. We have already lost a lot of services for our local hospital in Bridlington, please don't see us having to travel a longer distance for emergency treatment. It could be the death of us... many thanks :0) xx.

Emergency departments are for emergencies. Nearness is therefore critical. So, logically, what is the point of increasing the distance of availabilty of one's emergency services from a fairly large community. This is health care gone mad.

without this emergency department my daughter would not be here, she would not have survived if we had to travel to another hospital.

There for me only for one emergency but v glad they were to put a few stitches in my face, check for skull and eye damage after a rather close-encounter-of-the-reef-kind. Real fast triage and straight into treatment room Wonderful!
