if the government want to free housing for bigger family's, then this should apply to everyone, but it seems that the people on benefits are the only ones having to pay, and they are also saying we will have to pay a percentage of our council tax.i get £150 approx a week, i have to pay tv licence, water , electric , gas and heating to the council this leaves me not alot for food and sundries, with all the extra costs they want us to pay I will probably starve or freeze.

I am a member of causes, this just goes to show how important it is to vote, people not voting may have got the coaltion elected and this is what happens. Fact the tories are always against the working man/woman. You only benefit if you have wealth. Remember this at the next election you get the government you deserve.

When Margaret Thatcher's government put through the "Right to Buy" legislation all the best public housing (street front freehold houses) was snapped up first at ridiculous prices. It was literally the sale of the century, to help get votes and keep them in government. Families would club together and buy their gran's flat and then put their kids in and put gran in a home. I worked in local Government and I saw this happen so many times.Lots of places on inner city estates have been sold to...

I worked in local Government and I saw this happen so many times.Lots of places on inner city estates have been sold to rental companies who do short lets (another Thatcher "innovation") which all contributed to making social housing inaccessible/ unavailable. Older people, single people, vulnerable people (often all three) who lose their homes through redundancy or sickness are sleeping out there on the street. Its a total disgrace.

I'm unsure how this is "punishment" less still a tax..

As my brother and sister and I left home my mum downsized from our 3 bedroom council house (her, 2 boys and a girl) into first a 2 bedroom private rent and then into a one bedroom apartment. When I and my kids visit we camp in the living room.

No one is being taxed here, it's just that the government understandably do not want to use tax payers money to fund over sized properties that are "hogged" by benefits claimants at no cost to...

I am a socialist and a long standing labour member and supporter but I have to say I object to this petition.

I have a house that is for severely disabled daughter and have a spare room because my other children have moved on bud the the factor says there isn't any disabled 2 bedroom houses suitable for my daughters needs so I am forced to pay this tax
