I agree with bedroom tax if you have more rooms that you don't need and you don't pay your own rent then yes you should pay for your extra rooms people on benefits get so much its about time they payed something back or if they don't wont to pay for the extra rooms then move them out to somewhere that is the write size

you are incorrect people on benefit do not get things you all seem to think we get free stuff we have to pay for it Moore so if you are on disability . i spent nine years in the army, i fort in the fork-lands, worked down the pit, was a government diplomatic protection officer. searched for explosives until i was blown up , tortured in for two weeks in a sensitive country. and every day i have to beg for help. i have to have care every day. but i am still house bound because i cannot get...

I agree wit this charge.. People are seriously overcrowded or homeless and tax payers are paying housing benifit for empty rooms. STOP BEING SO SELFISH PEOPLE.

i would agree with this policy if the government had first made sure ther was enough suitable smaller housing for these people to move to...but there isnt...and possible the ones offered would be ones where no one else would want to live...it may be a fair policy but only if implemented correctly and they should have sorted this all out before bringing it in...as for people in the private reenting sector only being allowed the space they need...what a load of rubbish.i have lived 11yrs next...

I wonder how many bedrooms 10 Downing Street has? Maybe David Cameron would consider renting out any spare rooms to the Cleggs?

When my self and my 2 boys moved in2 my new house there is 4 bedrooms 3 are up stairs and 1 down stairs, the 1 down stairs is an extention of a bedroom and a wetroom and its purpose is 4 a disabled person and thats me as i have ms. I have 4 children to my ex-wife who I have access to so the council housed me after 7 years in a 2 bed bungalow but only because I complained to the Royal British Legion. But do to the unfair bedroom tax I now will have to find the money to pay for my extra room because the government say I am under occupying my property & only the person claiming child benefit will be exempt from the tax. Their will be thousands of separated parents who will be in the same position. The government do not care!

Sadly we all know the French would not stand for it and would think nothing of rioting. Tho we seem to put up with it.

I live in an adapted home. I worked right up until I went into wheelchair. I have probably bought my house over and over again with the rent paid. There are no one bedroom houses in my area so I will have to accept whichever area the council decide within North Lanarkshire so I then will not be close to my family and will be unable to see my children or grandchildren. Nobody wants to live in a house that is too large as they have the added problem of trying to heat it etc. I need at least...

There are no one bedroom houses in my area so I will have to accept whichever area the council decide within North Lanarkshire so I then will not be close to my family and will be unable to see my children or grandchildren. Nobody wants to live in a house that is too large as they have the added problem of trying to heat it etc. I need at least a 2 bedroom house in order that somebody can stay overnight to care for me. What happens to people who, at this time, are in receipt of housing benefit. When they are moved to a smaller house and then find a job and pay full rent, will they be allowed to move into a larger home again. When people struggle to pay the extra money for the extra bedrooms as they are unable to move due to lack of suitable accommodation, will we see rent arrears and evictions. Government say no children will ever be on the streets, but where will they go when they are evicted. They will have to be rehoused. Don't think this has been thought through. People will decide to be put into care homes where they will be looked after 24hrs per day, at what cost to the taxpayer then. They will be cared for, their laundry and meals will be provided etc and they will not have to worry about council tax, tv licence, heating etc....... This option will be much more costly than housing benefit received just now. The people who are abusing the system will always find a way to continue abusing the system. With the suggestion that we take in lodgers, does he really expect vulnerable people to take strangers into their homes, who is going to vet these strangers? will all the paedophiles out there now search for single mother lookin to take in lodgers? will they wait until somebody has been abused, or worse before they realise they made a mistake.

well said, refuse to move and you need a 3 bedroom anyway for your lift, don't pay your council tax to cover the extra rent they 'won't' be giving you...the real people are always the ones to suffer.
