Its the most pathetic and stupid tax so far!! Cameron just finding ways to take from the people making stupid suggestions like bedroom tax and taxing the poor more. Again the rich benefit from it all. The poor can hardly stay afloat with all the cuts he's made. Well done old chap time you left it for someone else to sort the mess out you've made!!!!

The idea of the scheme is that luxury's such as guest rooms are only for people that can afford them. I think it is because they have lots of older people on housing benefit who's children have moved out and have young family's of their own, possibly also on housing benefit and require larger houses and spend a very long time in over crowded accommodation, not only is there not a lot of vacant housing, the low minimum wage in this country means that larger housing is out of the price range...

I think it is because they have lots of older people on housing benefit who's children have moved out and have young family's of their own, possibly also on housing benefit and require larger houses and spend a very long time in over crowded accommodation, not only is there not a lot of vacant housing, the low minimum wage in this country means that larger housing is out of the price range of a lot of family's without claiming housing benefit. In simplest terms they want to rearrange this so that the young family's get the larger houses and the older generation get the smaller ones, it does make sense, although unfortunate for some. I myself am temporarily loving in expensive London and although I have 2 children me and my partner can only afford a 1 bedroom house, we earn to much to claim benefits and the council housing list is full to the brim. For this reason we are soon moving to Hampshire where we can afford a much larger house and garden for our children.

I also frequently get insulting comments about my expensive tiny house from people with nice big free council houses outside of London, It upsets me but I guess karma or Cameron is a bitch ;)

It is clear the policies are not working and there is a ground swell of discontent. It is time the banks paid back the money they were given and the rich paid their fair share of tax. If companies and the rich had not been given the tax loopholes they have been given there would be no need to squeeze the poor working man and woman and there would be money to invest in social housing and job creation. We need proper democracy as we are now governed by three greedy Tory parties: New Labour, liberals and Conservatives-Thatcher's legacy. Deregulation, privatisation and selling off social housing and where did the money go? We don't know, but an awful lot of politician's got rich in a very short space of time. The arms trader Mark Thatcher did very well out of things. It is unacceptable that the Poe and vulnerable in society should be made to suffer for political greed.

I agree with the charge. Yes it will affect good people but there are a lot of people who have lied their way to get a council house. I've been on the list for 15 years and never have been given a chance because I haven't liedmy way tthrough the system. Some people should not be given the chance and yet they do and the live in a house which is far too big for their family. But its ok for people like me to struggle every month to keep a roof over my kids heads and food on the table by private...

They are not telling you to totally give up a house but to move to a smaller house or pay to keep the bigger house. And it is a small amount of money per week also.

I'm in the North West & there's no 1 beds available where I live, as for private rentals, they nearly all state "no housing benefit accepted"

I am in a 3 bedroom house and have been trying to move to a smaller house but there is no 2 bedroom house available because the council sold most of then so if the council built suitable 2 bedroom I would move ASAP I have a disability and I have asked the council about moving into a 2 bedroom house that was not suitable for me and I would adapted it and pay for it as well and l was told no as the house is not suitable and they refused me so now l have to sit in a 3 bedroom and wait for a suitable 2 bedroom

I am a carer for my mam, the carers allowance is stingy enough, £100 for a 45 +hour week, but now their going to take £25 of that for the bedroom tax even though Ive told them I need an extra room for my mam to stay in when shes ill so I can look after her properly, she lives in a 1 bedroom place so its not practical for me to stay there, ive found out that a foster carer can have a spare room and wont be charged the bedroom tax even if they have no children in their charge all the time so the same should apply in my case.

I from the other hand. Live in a 1 bedroom small flat with 2 children my son sleeps in a cupboard because his bed does not fit in our bedroom with our bed the cot and the wardrobes. So I do agree with what he is doing as some people have got too many bedrooms that they don't use and yet there is u that struggle. I think people need to think of others and no them selves!

You miss the point, there is a shortage of all housing and there needs to be investment by goverment to build houses instead of playing musical chairs with people's lives.

Are you an 80 year old with a spare room, rent it out, a single mum with young children and one more room than you need, rent it out, are you vunarable in any way and have a spare room, rent it out because we are the couldn't give a s**t in the community party and we are cutting your benifits as we have to pay for the tax breaks to the rich somehow!
