This is absolutely outrageous. I'm a mother of 2. Im currently living in a poxy 1 bed box flat that 90% car board. I am awaiting a transfer out of poxy norfolk to a 2 bedroom because I only see my children part time at present and the bloody greedy idiots in government expect people in all sorts of different situations to pay tax, plus rent, bills etc... your bonkers. I predict a riot spring 2 my mind by the kaiser chiefs. The only one with and brains and more importantly heart is the mayor. NOT HAPPY!!!!

I agree with bedroom tax if you have more rooms that you don't need and you don't pay your own rent then yes you should pay for your extra rooms people on benefits get so much its about time they payed something back or if they don't wont to pay for the extra rooms then move them out to somewhere that is the write size

there is also the changes in beneifits, housing beneifit and council tax will be paid in to one person of the household once a month families will only get £500 per week that will include rent and council tax and it does not matter how many children you have, single people will only have £350 a week to live on and that to will be paid monthly also the councils will want everyone to pay at least 40% counciltax that will not be covered by beneifit so.

I am appalled with the totally 'un-joined-up' thinking of this administration. Even given that their policies are so Eton Schoolboy (not grown up yet); they talk on the one hand of the bigger society and everyone partaking in work and grannies doing their bit to help look after the children, flexible families, you name it. They are all laudible ideas in isolation when mooted in the senior common room, but look what happens in the real world. It is an unmitigated mess. The pleb kids in the...

The pleb kids in the local comprehensive could come up with better policies and make them work. There's not much to choose from between parties but one thing is certain that this current administration is taking the Great out of Britain.

I'm a single mum, I lost my job in October 2012, I have to go to the job centre every week and explain how I have looked for work, give the details of the companies I have applied to so that they can double check with those companies, I keep all the rejection letters that I get (rejected for being over qualified when all I have is standard school examinations). I have been told that if they do not think that what I do in a week is not sufficient then I will receive nothing, I am a genuinely...

I have been told that if they do not think that what I do in a week is not sufficient then I will receive nothing, I am a genuinely unemployed person, I do not like for one bit living on handouts, I feel degraded, I feel that I am looked upon as being lazy because I have not found a job yet and most of all I feel that myself and my children are a burden on society. Yes my children have different fathers, one pays £2.50 a week in CSA and the other pays nothing. I have always prided myself on being self sufficient, hard working and providing for my own family. At the moment I am living on handouts from the government, which believe me is not a lot, my parents buy my food shopping each week so that the children can eat properly. My children are 8 and 15, both boys. Under this new ruling I will have to pay for my oldest childs bedroom until he reaches 16, I will not be able to afford this which which will then get me into debt, not only that but, everyone on benefits will also have to pay 25% council tax too, I do understand that a lot of people do scrounge from the system but, what about us genuine people who are trying and looking daily for work, we get put into the same bracket as people who have never looked for work in their lives. It's degrading and humiliating and worse of all it's severely depressing, crying yourself to sleep every night with the shame that you cannot afford to look after the children that you promised the world to when they were born. The system needs to be shaken up and the real lazy people need to be penalised, this system is only supposed to be used as a temporary fix until you find employment, not a lifetime fix for staying at home. How people say they are better off on social handouts is a big query to me as I am severely struggling.
