It is disgustingly greedy, by my reckoning, people who do not have enough bedrooms should get their tax returned from this greedy posh lot.

This has never been known ever, at the end of the day it is to get more money out of people. Do we not spend enough on gas electric decorating keeping the home nice ist is disgusting. We should all refuse to pay it.

why if you are over 61 years of age (living alone or as a couple) and live in a 3 or 4 bedroomed house and you are on benefits etc. you are not even considered for the tax. you have to be under 61 years of age for some reason or other. why is that?

I would happily pay this tax....WHEN....the government (this is not just this government) you stop letting migrants from other countries claiming child benefit when their kids are not even living in the UK, stop giving houses & benefits to migrants.....there should be a rule like Australia & New Zealand whereby you should have a certain amount of trackable savings, pay into the UK Tax & NHS system for at least 10 yrs before they can claim a penny....

I actually think it is a good idea, I have 5 children one of which is special needs and should (for her own safety) have her own room, but cant because there are no properties available, when u have couples living in 3/4 bed houses. yes, they may have grandkids staying over on weekends but we have to live in overcrowded houses 24/7.

The last time we all really stood up and took to the streets in protest as a nation was when the poll tax was being pushed on us I was only young at the time but I remember the mass protest against such unfair taxation, since then the government have worked hard at dumbing down the population and making them apathetic to their own plight. It's a sad thing when you see how easily they got people voting for stupid reality tv but not on important issues, Rome did very much the same thing with...

Sorry for adding another comment, but here is another post I made on another' bedroom tax' facebook page.

"I am not going to give up my home. This fascist government can go swing! I will live solely on potatoes if I have to. Actually, if you want to live healthily and cheaply, become a vegetarian, or even better, a vegan. (check out Colin Campbell's work of how we are being poisoned by our food). I apologize for digressing!

It makes me sick when you read about the greed of those in power, such as the culture secretary Maria Miller, who has claimed up to £90.000 over the past few years for a property her parents have been living in. Her excuse? Her parents are her dependents. Well, the majority of people living in council houses and housing association properties have dependents, and the majority of the rents for these dwellings only amount to a few thousand a year.
I greatly dislike the titles, 'social housing' and 'service users' which are derogatory and designed to malign those in hardship. Have you noticed that the term 'social housing', is only used for those in receipt of housing benefit, and tax credits?

What we the people must not forget, and what those in government must remember, is that a government is elected to apply the majority 'agreed' law/rules of the people to govern the country. It is not for those in government to rule over us. No one chose this government. It was not elected, so how can their decisions and rulings be legal? We must fight back. What would happen if there was a major stand by people living in rented properties, (council, housing association and private rentals) and we all refused to pay this punitive bedroom tax? What would the government do then? They cannot jail us all.
