If it weren't for the unions we would be a third world country....
wyoming is a right to work state. how does thatwork for u guys. heard u hsve low unemployment
So Linda must agree with right to work despite the fact nurses are very much organized in unions.
Wyoming has some unions in the private and public sector but they are weak.
I don't like the union I'm for the right to work!
why dont you like unions ? they gave you weekend, pay is based on union scale , 8 hr days and good working conditions look what is happening now in china the people there are starting to fight back
They protect the slacker.. When my father was laid off for over a year the union that you so love did absolutely nothing for him except demand their union dues.
my husband worked non-union and union you have slackers on both sides but in the end when times are tough the true colors of the "slackers" come out. there are good and bad things about unions but the good thing out way the bad
C'mon people - get involved! This is the Flint Sit-Down Strike of 2012.
this will definitely weaken the unions if the gov votes this in
and corporate profits will increase . . . in terms of bonuses and payouts to the top . . . no guarantee of business expansion . . .
You BASTARD Gov. Snide-ass! As little as DAYS after the election you said there was no reason to push for "right to work for less" here in Michigan.FLIP FLOP! That is why sir that I will PERSONALLY worfingers to the bone to get YOU and your sorry ass campadres voted out of office in the next election...
Whatever Sue...Those who choose NOT to join the union who BARGAINS the contract for benefits, wages, pensions, vacations, 401K etc GLADLY ACCEPT what that union gets for you. Right? My suggestion for those who choose not to be members would be for you NOT to take what that union gets in a contract...Get it yourself...It's wrong for anyone to accept something like that when you want nothing to do with the organization who gets those things for you...Morally wrong...
And...I somewhat agree with you Sue about the Prop 2 thing...Bad political move in many ways...but this whole thing that Snyder and thee lame ducks pulled and rammed through in DAYS was just ridiculous...FOUR Republicans agreed that it was a rotten move...I will personally be headhunting every person who voted for this bill and do everything I CAN to see that they are not elected again...I've done this before...and I'll do it again...by education...
To the people who are against Unions. Shame on you. People died setting the standards of wages, benefits and the right to collective bargaining in many of your jobs today. Without collective bargaining, we would be at the mercy of greedy company management.
alternative: deal with greedy union thugs.
Please sign this petition to Gov Snyder to NOT ALLOW Right to Work legislation to pass.
Even John Engler did not sign this--a sad day in Michigan!!!!
Former President of Genesee Teacher's Union and wife Nancy served on first all women's college negotiation team---we support unions and all who care about the health, safety and future of Michigan workers need to fight the efforts of Snyder and his wealthy backroom members of the Scrooge family who want more work for less pay----this is an insult to UAW workers who rolled up their sleaves and pushed GM back on top by a whole bunch of hard work and extra effort. Snyder is coward and a big money puppet.s.
You go !!!
My real concern is "why are there only 14, 000 plus signed petitions? How many union members are there in Michigan? These actions by this knucklehead governor is as serious as a heart attack.... I'm real hopeful the leadership of all those unions in Michigan are doing their part pushing down and out with an agenda to overcome by education/communication of its rank/file.......
Have you heard if Our International is dojng anything ?
I have no problem with a right to work. If you don't want to pay union dues, then don't apply where there are unions! If you do come to work where there are unions, you should not be allowed to share in everything our union bargained for with the company. If you don't pay for the backing of our union then you should have to bargain on your own. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT!
That's right, Gary. I'm not sure why people want to work in a union shop and not pay dues when they already know benefits and wages will be better. Snyder thinks everyone has stupid written across their heads, I guess. As I said before, people should not receive anything that was collectively bargained for without paying the dues. No pay, No services rendered.
If you want to benefit from the union (wages, protection from unfair labor practices) you should be willing to share in the cost.
You got that right.
