Article 5 of the constitution allows the people to do this but it will take people to participate to get it done

I also know we need to have term limits....this should be added to the petition...Too many living off the government tit...for too many years...

Whatever they vote for us should definitely apply to them! Why not? Thank the Lord for people that care and get involved. We've been too complacent for too long! Let's keep this going.

If Politicians were honestly "representing" the people of the United States like they claim they do on their soapboxes at election time, they would pay themselves like 95%ers, and not try to compete with the 1 %ers, they would pay out of their own pockets for their own healthcare like the 95%ers, and they would have to save their income for their own retirement...like the 95%ers, instead of living off the backs of the 95%ers when they retire....and they have the nerve to talk about "entitlements"!

They should be required to have social security like the rest of us, as well as health benefits that are no different that the average American. If they want retirement they should have a 401K like the average American. They aren't special, they work for US!

ITS UNACCEPTABLE THE WAY CONGRESS AND ALL OF DC ARE LOOTING THIS COUNTRY AND FILLING THEIR POCKETS WITH OUR HARD EARNED MONEY......OBAMA JUST GAVE THEM ALL A RAISE......BEFORE THEY VOTED ON HIS WAY FOR THE FISCAL CLIFF! THEIR PERKS AND BENEFITS AS WELL AS PAY ARE DOWNRIGHT IMMORAL! EVERYDAY WE ARE PAYING THEM MORE AND THEY ARE TAKING AWAY OUR FREEDOMS!

I concur. This amendment will finally bring them to heel. When a consistent grade of F - is obtained, as the coffers of their employers (We the People) are looted for undeserved pay and benefits, and as Civil and Constitutional rights are repeatedly violated, so they can wield more power than what is prescribed of their elected positions; this is a great way to let them know that we have put up with more than enough of their shenanigans.

Don't think your right. President Obama cannot give them a raise. Congress alone acts on this. Check it out before placing blame.

After the war of 1812 the corrupt congress changed the Constitution for the Corporate DC omitted the original 13th amendment that was an anti-lawyer amendment. Lawyers are not suppose to be holding office in the gov. can look it up on internet. This is what it reads. "If any citizen of the United States shall accept, claim, receive, or retain, any title of nobility or honor, or shall, without the consent of Congress, accept and retain any present, pension, office or emolument of any kind...

This needs to be put back like it was. With all the crooked lawyers in the gov, know wonder it is so corrupt, the original 13th amendment was a guard against this. So the gov has been lying to the citizens of America since this time.

While we are at it, why don't we pass an "Accountability Law" that holds congress and any Presidents declaring war onto the American people and third worlds accountable for their actions? Ditto with the irresponsible corporations using deceiving marketing practices, false marketing slogans such as "freedom isn't free" They must sign a contract stating their daughters/sons must report to active "duty" military combat by age 18, or face five years in prison or $250k fine. This vicious cycle...

This vicious cycle has pitted USA at ranking #88 in global peace rating today. But why would anyone use misleading propaganda and false fear to keep us in a perpetual state of war? Let’s see, Northrop Grumman CEO Wes Bush-$22.84 million, Lockheed Martin CEO Robert Stevens $ 21.89, Boeing CEO James McNemey $19.4 million. And of course the military contracts themselves…..Lockheed Martin $668 million, the others like $550 million and $ 923 million respectively. Get the picture?

Lets get real here. Not for one moment do I believe congress is about to cut their own throat. They are NOT our representatives any longer. They represent them self's. It is going to take much more then a petition to move them. You folks are living in today’s world using yesterdays standards.

Jack, it's a step towards doing SOMETHING. We are where we are today because people do not communicate with their elected reps. Apathy and barroom grumbling won't get the word out. Congress has the power it has because they believe that "the people don't care".

Well Boonie; when did you hang up the phone after talking with your reps. aid and feeling you were ignored in the most polite way by your reps aid? You knew that your opinion and $5.00 would get you a cup of coffee. That is the value of our opinion in DC. Their response to an e-mail or letter is a form letter. Senator John McCain is a good example. You my friend as well as the rest of us have had the wool pulled over our eyes for such a long time that we think this is the normal. Please stop...
