Nice to see more reasons than just a spastic "they aren't natural! noes! 1!". These are good reasons, and because of them I will sign. Their disproportionate use of too much local water, their highly flammable fire risk, their invasive spread once planted and their tendency to harbor a deadly/dangerous fungus that can make both humans and animals sick: all of those reasons together make planting these trees a bad idea. Being genetically engineered to withstand colder temperatures only means...

Being genetically engineered to withstand colder temperatures only means they could spread over the entire usa, and that weather/climate won't keep them from spreading into every state, but the engineering is not actually the biggest problem. Even non-genetically engineered 100% natural eucalyptus has these same risks and problems. It's a problematic plant in the wrong environment, and the usa can't afford to support it. I can tell from the comments though that a lot of people didn't bother to read much farther than the words "genetically modified"....

Please leave things as they are or address it in a natural manner. Messing with nature can be dangerous business.

Leave nature alone! It will take care of itself as has done for too many years to count, we have no logical reason for this genetic engineering other than the money that these people receive for doing so. I do hope and pray that this practice will be stopped!!
