Oh yeah? And the Jews have been living there since Biblical times, before Palestinians (actually Arabs) even came to the region! Get your facts straight, will ya? Dennis, of course, any Jews living there since biblical times also have a right to stay there. It still doesn't give them the right to throw Palestinians off of Palestinian land. A piece of land where a family of Palestinians have lived for hundreds of years, passing the land on from one generation of those Palestinians to the next, is Palestinian land. No Jews would have lived on that land, at least not for hundreds of years, and no Jew nor anyone else would have any right to just take that land from them. I would never deny Israel her right to defend herself. But I would remind her in the strongest terms that the people of Gaza are human beings too. Yes, there are a few Gazans firing rockets into Israel, but she should not judge all of the Gazan people by the actions of the few. She needs to be fully conscious of the human cost of her actions, and respond to that conscience appropriately.

Israel enthusiasts' inability to recognize Israel's barbarity to the Palestinians is unbelievable, especially when it happens right in front of their eyes, as now in Gaza. But it's been occurring for over 40 years throughout the occupied territories. They won't read authoritative books or articles or see historically accurate movies showing what's going on. Guests on TV news shows have documented that Hamas wasn't the first to break the recent ceasefire.
Israel's been frightful to Hamas.
After Hamas won the Gaza election democratically, Israel arrested essentially all the elected officials, jailing them for months, without U.S. protest.
After Israel withdrew its troops from Gaza, bragging that it no longer occupies Gaza, it continuously inflicted ear-splitting sound bombs upon the Gazans, causing deafness, sleeplessness and trauma for children.
Israel wouldn't pay government workers' salaries, so buying food, clothing, utilities and household necessities became impossible; hunger became rampant.
Before Israel's current war crimes against civilians and infrastructure, Israel stopped supplying humanitarian needs, like food, water and medical care. Now it's bombing schools and not taking the wounded to hospitals, and is shelling with white phosphorus.
After Israel's soldiers left Gaza, it continued controlling Gaza's air, sea and land borders, assassinating so-called "terrorists" from the air, while hitting neighboring houses and killing innocent civilians, including children. Remember, the Palestinians don't have a plane, helicopter or tank. Their Katyusha rockets are largely homemade and can't aim, while Israel's rockets, that we don't hear about, are surgically accurate.

Scratch a counterintelligence officer in the U.S. government and they'll tell you that Israel is not a friend to the United States.

This is because Israel runs one of the most aggressive and damaging espionage networks targeting the U.S.. The fact of Israeli penetration into the country is not a subject oft-discussed in the media or in the circles of governance, due to the extreme sensitivity of the U.S.-Israel relationship coupled with the burden of the Israel lobby, which punishes legislators who dare to criticize the Jewish state. The void where the facts should sit is filled instead with the hallucinations of conspiracy theory -- the kind in which, for example, agents of the Mossad, Israel’s top intelligence agency, engineer the 9/11 attacks, while 4,000 Israelis in the Twin Towers somehow all get word to escape before the planes hit. The effect, as disturbing as it is ironic, is that the less the truth is addressed, the more noxious the falsity that spreads.

Israel's spying on the U.S., however, is a matter of public record, and neither conspiracy nor theory is needed to present the evidence. When the FBI produces its annual report to Congress concerning "Foreign Economic Collection and Industrial Espionage," Israel and its intelligence
services often feature prominently as a threat second only to China. In 2005 the FBI noted, for example, that Israel maintains "an active program to gather proprietary information within the United States." A key Israeli method, said the FBI report, is computer intrusion. In 1996, the Defense Intelligence Service, a branch of the Pentagon, issued a warning that "the collection of scientific intelligence in the United States [is] the third highest priority of Israeli Intelligence after information on its Arab neighbors and information on secret U.S. policies or decisions relating to Israel." In 1979, the Central Intelligence Agency produced a scathing survey of Israeli intelligence activities that targeted the U.S. government. Like any worthy spy service, Israeli intelligence early on employed wiretaps as an effective tool, according to the CIA report. In 1954, the U.S. Ambassador in Tel Aviv discovered in his office a hidden microphone "planted by the Israelis," and two years later telephone taps were found in the residence of the U.S. military attaché. In a telegram to Washington, the ambassador at the time cabled a warning: "Department must assume that all conversations [in] my office are known to the Israelis." The former ambassador to Qatar, Andrew Killgore, who also served as a foreign officer in Jerusalem and Beirut, told me Israeli taps of U.S. missions and embassies in the Middle East were part of a "standard operating procedure."

According to the 1979 CIA report, the Israelis, while targeting political secrets, also devote "a considerable portion of their covert operations to obtaining scientific and technical intelligence." These operations involved, among other machinations, "attempts to penetrate certain classified defense projects in the United States." The penetrations, according to the CIA report, were effected using "deep cover enterprises," which the report described as "firms and organizations, some specifically created for, or adaptable to, a specific objective." At the time, the CIA singled out government-subsidized companies such as El Al airlines and Zim, the Israeli shipping firm, as deep cover enterprises. Other deep cover operations included the penetration of a U.S. company that provided weapons-grade uranium to the Department of Defense during the 1960s; Israeli agents eventually spirited home an estimated 200 pounds of uranium as the bulwark in Israel’s secret nuclear weapons program. Moles have burrowed on Israel’s behalf throughout the U.S. intelligence services. Perhaps most infamous was the case of Jonathan Pollard, a Jewish-American employed as a civilian analyst with the U.S. Navy who purloined an estimated 800,000 code-word protected documents from inside the CIA, the Defense Intelligence Agency, and numerous other U.S. agencies. While Pollard was sentenced to life in prison, counterintelligence investigators at the FBI suspected he was linked to a mole far higher in the food chain, ensconced somewhere in the DIA, but this suspected Israeli operative, nicknamed "Mr. X," was never found. Following the embarrassment of the Pollard affair -- and its devastating effects on U.S. national security, as testified by then Defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger (who allegedly stated that Pollard "should have been shot") -- the Israeli government vowed never again to pursue espionage against its ally and chief benefactor.

How Israel brought Gaza to the brink of humanitarian catastrophe
Oxford professor of international relations Avi Shlaim served in the Israeli army and has never questioned the state's legitimacy. But its merciless assault on Gaza has led him to devastating conclusions
The only way to make sense of Israel's senseless war in Gaza is through understanding the historical context. Establishing the state of Israel in May 1948 involved a monumental injustice to the Palestinians. British officials bitterly resented American partisanship on behalf of the infant state. On 2 June 1948, Sir John Troutbeck wrote to the foreign secretary, Ernest Bevin, that the Americans were responsible for the creation of a gangster state headed by "an utterly unscrupulous set of leaders". I used to think that this judgment was too harsh but Israel's vicious assault on the people of Gaza, and the Bush administration's complicity in this assault, have reopened the question.

I write as someone who served loyally in the Israeli army in the mid-1960s and who has never questioned the legitimacy of the state of Israel within its pre-1967 borders. What I utterly reject is the Zionist colonial project beyond the Green Line. The Israeli occupation of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip in the aftermath of the June 1967 war had very little to do with security and everything to do with territorial expansionism. The aim was to establish Greater Israel through permanent political, economic and military control over the Palestinian territories. And the result has been one of the most prolonged and brutal military occupations of modern times.

Four decades of Israeli control did incalculable damage to the economy of the Gaza Strip. With a large population of 1948 refugees crammed into a tiny strip of land, with no infrastructure or natural resources, Gaza's prospects were never bright. Gaza, however, is not simply a case of economic under-development but a uniquely cruel case of deliberate de-development. To use the Biblical phrase, Israel turned the people of Gaza into the hewers of wood and the drawers of water, into a source of cheap labour and a captive market for Israeli goods. The development of local industry was actively impeded so as to make it impossible for the Palestinians to end their subordination to Israel and to establish the economic underpinnings essential for real political independence.

Gaza is a classic case of colonial exploitation in the post-colonial era. Jewish settlements in occupied territories are immoral, illegal and an insurmountable obstacle to peace. They are at once the instrument of exploitation and the symbol of the hated occupation. In Gaza, the Jewish settlers numbered only 8,000 in 2005 compared with 1.4 million local residents. Yet the settlers controlled 25% of the territory, 40% of the arable land and the lion's share of the scarce water resources. Cheek by jowl with these foreign intruders, the majority of the local population lived in abject poverty and unimaginable misery. Eighty per cent of them still subsist on less than $2 a day. The living conditions in the strip remain an affront to civilised values, a powerful precipitant to resistance and a fertile breeding ground for political extremism.

The reason why they use the name "Israel', the Star of David, hijacking, stealing the identity of Judaism and the Jewish people is in order to get a legitimacy for their existance that people should say: "Oh, it is God's given to them" and that they should put fear and intimidate people from speaking up against their actions because they will call them anti Semitic. Israel's school NEVER teach their young ones to hate the Palestine people, yet in Palestine starting at the age of four or five years old they are taught to hate the Jews, they even call them dogs, etc. You never hear of Israel demonstration saying or holding big boards with writing such as "BEHEAD THOSE WHO INSULT ISRAEL" yet they do, "BEHEAD THOSE WHO INSULT ISLAM" You will never find a highway sign reading "for Jews only (four lanes)" - "for non-Jews (one lane)" Yet, in Muslim countries yet you see it, there is a wide lane at least four lanes that reads "Lil-Muslimeen Fakat" which means "Muslims only." The right single lane, which is narrow, has a sign that reads: "Ghayr Al-Muslimeen" which means "Non-Muslims." I remember riding in a cab with some of my friends, and when I first saw that, I was in awe, because I thought it was an Express Lane, like we have here in America. So, I said, "wow" you have Express Lanes like in America. There was silent you could hear a pin drop, so I thought I wasn't heard so I repeated, still no answer, so I dropped it. Only to find out later in years that it wasn't an express lane at all, it was just as I stated, for Muslims only and for non-Muslims. You NEVER hear of a Jew killing his daughter for her head being uncover, yet you hear MANY REPORTS with Muslims stoning, cutting their throats, etc. for not covering their heads. It happen right here in NYC last year. Look it up, a Muslim father took his two daughters in the back of his cab and slid their throats, for not having their heads uncover. And don't tell me things like this happen all over the world, that people flip and do crazy things. Yes, to slip and do something crazy is one thing, but to hear reports like this all over the WORLD is a horse of a different color. First of all Israel belongs to the Lord, and only the Lord. The Lord chose to have the Jews live their because they were the only people that worship Him. All other nations worship pagan gods. Look up history and you'll see that this is true. The Palestine and not just the Palestine, Iran, Saudi Arabia, etc. they all hate the Jews and want to wipe them out of the planet earth. But, since this is the Lord's nation, there is nobody on earth that will take this land away from the Jews, because the Lord is and will still continue to fight for them. So, they are the ones who are fighting a loosing battle. HONESTLY, WHO COULD FIGHT AGAINST THE LORD ALMIGHTY. NO ONE.... I ask you this, why are the Palestine weak people, why aren't the Middle East taking them under their wings, why isn't the Middle East telling them "Come live in our land you are our brothers"? Yet, they can talk a lot of ----------yet, do nothing. The Palestine people and the Jews are brothers like or not, they are brothers-same father....Yet the Palestine HATE the Jews. I never ever heard a Jew say that they hate the Palestine, yet I've met many Palestine's that say they hate them, they are raised with so much hate in their hearts toward the Jews since babies they are taught to hate them. Come on, wake up and smell the coffee...All of the names of the Jewish God are beautiful names, look at their Allah's names, "ALLAH AL-DARR" which happens to to be the same word used to address vermin and anything nasty. It literally means the causer of harm, the afflicter and creator of all-suffering. In the Bible, Satan is portrayed as the one who afflicts people with calamity and at times even with sickness and disease. His son of perdition, the Antichrist, is portrayed as one who afflicts the saints, and "the desolator." He is described as "the abomination" and "one who makes desolate" anything that is holy. He sets himself on the Temple of God, which sparks the wrath of God to be pored on him:"until the full determined end is poured out on the desolator" (Daniel 9:27) SOUNDS FIMILIAR!!!!? No, the world is in serious trouble if we don't put a stop to all that the Muslims are doing. Look, at what's happeing in England, France, Holland, etc. We are in serious trouble, I feel the UN should NOT ALLOW THEM TO ENTER AMERICA ANYMORE, THEY SHOULD KEEP THEM OUT.

Israel is and always has been a peace loving nation. Every country in that part of the world has attacked Israel and they take it and take it until someone dies and then they fire one back and everyone thinks they've committed some crime. Well, too bad; I think Israel has the right to defend herself and blow them back to the Stone Age and put a stop to it once and for all! GO ISRAEL! TAKE 'EM OUT.

Israel's Slow-Motion Genocide in Occupied Palestine

Israel is a serial human rights international law abuser. The UN Human Rights Commission affirms that it violates nearly all 149 articles of the Fourth Geneva Convention that governs the treatment of civilians in war and under occupation and is guilty of grievous war crimes.Imagine life under these conditions:
Living in limbo under a foreign occupier. Having no self-determination, no right of return, and no power over your daily life. Being in constant fear, economically strangled, and collectively punished.

Having your free movement denied by enclosed population centers, closed borders, regular curfews, roadblocks, checkpoints, electric fences, and separation walls. Having your homes regularly demolished and land systematically stolen to build settlements for encroachers in violation of international law prohibiting an occupier from settling its population on conquered land.

Having your right to essential services denied - to emergency health care, education, employment, and enough food and clean water. Being forced into extreme poverty, having your crops destroyed, and being victimized by punitive taxes. Having no right for redress in the occupier's courts under laws only protecting the occupier.

Being regularly targeted by incursions and attacks on the ground and from the air. Being willfully harassed, ethnically cleansed, arrested, incarcerated, tortured, and slaughtered on any pretext, including for your right of self-defense. Having no rights on your own land in your own country for over six decades and counting. Vilified for being Muslims and called terrorists, Jihadists, crazed Arabs, and fundamentalist extremists. Victimized by a slow-motion genocide to destroy you.

According to Israeli historian Ilan Pappe, Israel has conducted state-sponsored genocide against the Palestinians for decades and intensively in Gaza. In a September 2006 Electronic Intifada article titled "Genocide in Gaza" he wrote:

"A genocide is taking place in Gaza....An average of eight Palestinians die daily in the Israeli attacks on the Strip. Most of them are children. Hundreds are maimed, wounded and paralyzed. (It's become) a daily business, now reported (only) in the internal pages of the local press, quite often in microscopic fonts. The chief culprits are the Israeli pilots who have a field day," like shooting fish in a barrel. Why not, they're only Muslims, so who'll notice or care.

International law expert Francis Boyle does and in March 1998 proposed that "the Provisional Government of (Palestine) and its President institute legal proceedings against Israel before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in the Hague for violating the" Genocide Convention. He stated that "Israel has indeed perpetrated the international crime of genocide against the Palestinian people (and the) lawsuit would....demonstrate that undeniable fact to the entire world."

Israel is a serial human rights international law abuser. The UN Human Rights Commission affirms that it violates nearly all 149 articles of the Fourth Geneva Convention that governs the treatment of civilians in war and under occupation and is guilty of grievous war crimes. The Commission also determined that as an occupying power Israel has committed crimes against humanity as defined under the 1945 Nuremberg Charter.

Geneva, Nuremberg and other international human rights laws guarantee what Article 3 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states: that everyone "has the right to life, liberty and security of person." Article 6 (1) of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights also affirms it in saying that every "human being has the inherent right to life." Official Israeli policy is to deny it to Palestinians under occupation, especially Gazans under siege.
