It only takes a moment to show kindness to someone, but can leave a lasting impression.

It costs nothing to brighten someone's day with a friendly smile and a sincere "thank you." With eye contact :-)

So true. Seems to me that in addition to this Selfless Saturday (and every other day, just because) folks need to be particularly kind and agreeable to anyone who is stuck working on GivingThanks day.

To so many of us, the guards at the gate, entrance to the mall or at the airport, the drivers and ticket takers on public transportation, the service station attendants, the grocery baggers and cashiers, the newspaper boy, the house help etc. etc. become almost invisible to most who use their services. But when we notice them, when we thanks them.... what smiles are returned to us. Yes! Start with one day! But move on to a lifestyle of recognizing all who, if the truth is remembered,...

This must be a trying job especially from now to Christmas! Try and remember it's not the staff's problem if the thing you want isn't there!

We need to be grateful to the service workers here in America, in France they include tips for the waitstaff in the price of food/drink so it's in the bill, and they do the minimum amount of work and know they don't have to do anything extra for you, they are getting paid. Even the poor waitstaff are doing their jobs, so give 20% or don't eat out, really simple. I can't wait to do something extra this holiday season for everyone who serves me.
