Hi Sapta, this is only in the US in Canada, but I would advise researching a donation place near you, or giving your old computer parts to someone in need!

I believe thjat Goodwill Industries is an uncharitable charity. workers get minimum wage to fix items and sell them. the founder gets millions. this is not a helpful charity in my view.

Hi Harvey, thanks for being a part of this conversation. I have heard similar concerns as you have mentioned above, however I do want to note that Goodwill Industries is an amazing charity and is doing a lot for its workers - beyond just offering a job. Over the next few weeks we will be sharing the work that Goodwill is doing, however if you have a bit of time you may want to read more about the organization here - http://www.goodwill.org/blog/ - you will find real employees thanking the...

Hi Harvey, thanks for being a part of this conversation. I have heard similar concerns as you have mentioned above, however I do want to note that Goodwill Industries is an amazing charity and is doing a lot for its workers - beyond just offering a job. Over the next few weeks we will be sharing the work that Goodwill is doing, however if you have a bit of time you may want to read more about the organization here - http://www.goodwill.org/blog/ - you will find real employees thanking the Goodwill. The Goodwill not only offers a paycheck to their employees, but they employ handicapped, people with mental illness, homeless and veterans, they run job training and computer classes, most importantly they offer people a place to call work, when hundreds of others have turned them away.

All the time! It is a year-long effort, just check your local Goodwill to make sure the Dell Reconnect program is in your area! To find participating Goodwill locations and see a list of qualified/accepted computer electronics, please visit dellreconnect.com.

Hi Carlos, The Goodwill fixes up the computers, resells them and also creates job/computer training classes. There is a lot to do with what some of us consider old technology!

I will try to do more. I am doing some things for the holidays, but am thinking it would be great to do something every month if possible. Especially in January, when the holidays are over and your bills come in, but I think it's a great time b/c then donations drop so much. Of course, there are so many ways to help out that don't cost money, too. I've come to feel that lifes more then just about my family and is a community thing. If you can help out, then do. How much stuff do we really need? and really how much do I give out. If you are interested, join in.
