I tried to give blood once at my university, and they told me they don't take blood from my ethnicity, for scientific reasons. Otherwise, I would love to help if I can :)

From what I know, they don't take blood if you have traveled to certain countries in the past 12 months or so. The restrictions is because of some prevalent diseases in those countries.
