I have tried, during the last few years, to grow more 'bee-friendly' flowering plants, and saw some bees during this last disastrous summer, despite the rain.

Well done you Sylvia - our bees seem to be thriving despite the poor summer. But almost all the honey has had to be left for them to eat for this coming winter. They deserve it though. Fascinating creatures and so clever.

Poisons that kill insects will kill us. Anyone who has learned about Integrated Pest Management knows this or should. We're in a new century, we should know better.

My mothers parents started a "honey farm" in the late 1800's or early 1900's in Oshkosh, WI. Berholtz Honey.... I believe my cousin still processes it. Honey is THE PERFECT FOOD! It NEVER spoils, even after 1000 years. It would be a true loss to the world!

Fully 1/3 of US commercial beehives -- more than 1 million colonies -- have disappeared in the past year alone. Please sign this petition asking EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson to end the use of neonicotinoid pesticides before bees go extinct altogether. thanks for th e invite to join, Paul, I signed this one a while back. Sounding Bowls are used with bees in some places, bees feel vibrations through their feet as they don't have ears. Sounding Bowls have remarkable healing effects also with human beings in a huge variety of situations and are used in top hosptials in the UK.
