Many of us fought to have a ban in the Uk and Europe. We supposedly won. But the ban is a total sham.

The ‘ban’ doesn’t come into force until December. By then most if not all farmers will have purchased their chemical coated seeds for next year.

They are only banning 3 of the neonicotinoids. There are others, which will not be banned.

They are only being banned from using on pollinating plants, so will still be used on other crops, meaning that there will continue to be residues on the land. And it is not known how long residues last for.

There is no ban on all the other insecticides, which may also be having a detrimental effect on all bees and other pollinating insects.

New studies show that not only are bees are being affected, but hoverflies and lacewings too. So the notion by many folk that there are other insects, which can go on pollinating, is false.

We have had the most amazing apple blossom this year, yet very few bees working it – one or two here and there. The same with comfrey, which would normally be humming with bumble bees. We in the Uk have had a very long winter, and still a cool spring. Indeed, the coldest spring in 50 years. This has undoubtedly has had a serious effect on bee populations of all kinds. Undoubtedly too, they have been weakened by chemicals.

Think about it seriously. Insecticides do that – kill insects! So...

Think about it seriously. Insecticides do that – kill insects! So what can we expect – dead bees, dead hoverflies, dead lacewings….. all for the sake of money and power.

The same people are pushing to ban all seeds that are not controlled by Monsanto and the other chemical industries, so that we have to use their genetically modified seeds, which will only grow by using their chemicals.

The same people who are trying to ban the use of homeopathy, herbs and other forms of natural healing, so that we are all hooked on to their drugs.

Yes It is a case of tunnel vision with some of the bureaucrats. There is no thought about the wider implications.

It would be good to know the cut off date for this petion - a lot of petitions keep circulating and getting signed long past their sell-by date. Petition fatigue can set in if one discovers ones self wasting time with an old poetition...so this information [a date] needs to be in the first 3 paragraphs of page 1.

It states the days left above the signature timer (top right) - it's clear for all to see. Today 01/07/13 it shows 355 days left. :)

Nicotine kills scabies & their hard basterds to kill. The hardest of all insects are mites & i don't see them on vegetables except the cabbage so why use it?Collembolia has been found in our skin "MOST DISTURBING" due to our killing the food chain insects that eat them bees being one of them. These insects play a very important role. Our body carrys 2-3pound of mites & bacteria that play an important role in our survival. Kill them & your killing us. Immunity disease is on the rise. Killing part of natures plan isn't the answer.
