Growing up in Grassy Park meant spending long leisurely hours fishing, eating sour figs and frietangs at the Princess Vlei. NO MALLS CAN BE ALLOWED!!!!

Please save this natural treasure from development.......NOT a mall! Malls can be built anywhere but a vlei is an asset in a community.

I am totally opposed to any change to this wetland area, it must not be touched.... it should be left alone, only improved , and kept the way it is.....in its natural state for posterity....

Driving along Prince Georges Drive the other day I noticed that there is miles of bare ugly littered land in that area, why destroy the vlei. Picnic spots are becoming less and less.

We definitely do not need more malls. What we do need though, is to protect our wetlands. They are disappearing at an alarming rate and once it is lost it's lost forever.

I "signed the petition" some hours ago, and again a few minutes ago, but my name has not appeared on the list of petitioners. Most of those on the list posted well over an hour ago, according to the list. What is happening? How can the petetion receive the hoped-for number of signatures if this is the modus operandi?

As children growing up in the nineteen-fifties in nearby Plumstead we made canoes out of second-hand corrugated iron roof sheeting, dragged them on heath-robinson trailers behind our bicycles, and paddled on Princess Vlei. Many children and many families have enjoyed this facility. Visit the Blue Route shopping mall in Tokai, note the built environment around it, and ask: "Do we want to replicate this here?"
