most people have no idea why the people died! because as usual, we have an opinion without knowing the full truth, and hearsay is good enough for us to launch a witch-hunt with a very strong conviction :( the negligence was of the regulating authorities, who look the other way, nay encourage violations, as they get mioney for it...as for owners, they can either shut the factories or take measures to stop this 'chor' nation from stealing everything that they can get out through the windows...

Ghazanfar, i am sorry but i didn't get it if you were for or against the OWNERS being held primarily responsible for the catastrophe... I for one hold them responsible, primarily, as i do myself for not having a fire [catastrophe] safe home or office or a decent SOP in a similar event... YES, we are all responsible, but those people who do employ so many Pakistanis and who do so for profit [not out of the goodness of their heart], are responsible for their safety and security. If you know some facts first hand that others don't know and knwoing of which would alter most peoples opinion on the matter, then i invite you to share... else it will continue to remain a matter of my opinion versus yours! [Just venting...

Azmat, totally understand where you're coming from! just so that you know, i've run a couple of these factories for 5 years. Nobody runs a business for charity, but a lot of people allow social welfaer to become an inherent part of their business, as mucha s they can afford, and often beyond the standard call of duty. Having said that, the Government agencies don't allow you to operate straight, even if you want to, as everyone might start getting ideas! furthermore, the inherent crook in...

Nobody runs a business for charity, but a lot of people allow social welfaer to become an inherent part of their business, as mucha s they can afford, and often beyond the standard call of duty. Having said that, the Government agencies don't allow you to operate straight, even if you want to, as everyone might start getting ideas! furthermore, the inherent crook in most of this population forces measures to protect the business, which wouldn't survive too many days, if everyone was freely allowed to walk away with whatever they wanted, from machinery to products. I agree that there need to be better accident protection standards, but the Government has to lead and not put the blame on the enterpreneur, who may have actually been doing a lot of good, but may have not foreseen this situation. Trust me no one wants his business to burn down!! people there or not...

one thing i dont get is generalizing all the factory owners & factories as all being the same as of Ali Enterprises............does anyone realise how the labors always keep the owners hostage; as foreign customers dont come to pakistan due to terrorism threats, it takes a limb for the owner to get orders & that too by being regionally cheap in prices, and the labor then exploits the owners at crucial production times.........does anyone realise the huge amount of labor turnover in EACH...

These criminals along with the authorities who regulate the health and safety of the workers should be put on a mass murder trial and maximum penalty, as Pakistan Penal Code, should be given to these murderers. Unfortunately that will never happen because Law in Pakistan is only for those who can not buy it. Since the mass-murder victims were poor therefore they will not get the justice. The only answer to these cruelties is to organise the poor and deprived from all classes and background...

I request to all the friends who are signing this petition To realize that "we have very short memories" incidents like such have been happening in the past, we tend to forget those and move ahead. Death of one person or 300 persona is the same" one family or 300 families" bread and butter earner lost his life due to share negligence of many greedy people. Incidents like this will be happening in future if proper voice with continuous followup is not raised.

Believe me, if I could I would change everything andmake the People of Pakistan happy. There are so many needs there. You need also Health Insurance so ALL PEOPLE can see any Doctor and the problem with Electric MUST be fixed. I love the People of Pakistan but I dont have the funds to do anything :((
