Health workers have a choice - work in health and protect themselves and others, or work somewhere else.

As a nurse I argued for years with stupid parents not vaccinating their children based on their misinformation. Don't tell me I must take the damn flu shot! If mandated for healthcare workers, must mandate for all who may comein contact with infant or child. Ummm.. that means the entire country btw. The virus isin the community at large. Your sister or uncle could have brought it to you over lunch, your pastors wife at church. All or none for mandate. Oh, and legislators too. If you suceed

here, let me know so I can buy
some big pharma stock. They
love this kind of panic, more
profit for them. Perhaps you work for them? Point: healthcare workers have fought hard to get parents to vaccinate, and to get people to get their flu shots. Who are you to turn on us now. Most of us do get the flu shot. Mandating will not prevent most of your exposure being out in the community and around family.

Like the school where the virus is just as rampant? Tell teachers etc the same then!

it is high time that anybody who is affected must take necessary measures to prevent him from flue.

Teachers are not dealing wholly and solely with people who are already unwell. That is a false analogy

There are research papers saying that flu vaccine is not effective or safe. But so what? Even if the research is from the reliable sources, we will ignore this, and we will see what we want to see.

So let’s talk about some common sense.

The fact is that vaccination does NOT stop you from carrying bacteria or viruses in your nose, in your throat, in your intestines, in your airway, on your skin, or in your body. Especially if you go to the hospital, the chance of getting sick from virus will be increased. You should not touch door knobs, should not go to bathroom, should not sit in the chair, should not touch pencils, etc…. because virus is everywhere especially in hospital.

But many do not understand the significance of this fact, and have been made to believe that if you’re vaccinated, you won’t carry viruses, and therefore, others will be protected because you’re vaccinated. As it turns out, this belief is NOT based on scientific fact.

As a patient what you want to see from the healthcare providers is not the sign says “I am vaccinated.” What you want to see is “I just washed my hands.”.

Washing their hand should be a given. I know that hand hygiene is rarely up to the standards it should be, but every healthcare worker knows it's a requirement. And being vaccinated reduces the changes of your catching the virus. If you're sick you are much more likely to pass on the disease than if you're not. You can infect others before you know you're sick, and 70 percent of healthcare workers go to work even when they feel sick. Damn that work ethic.

Might want to re think the word all as plenty people who are in health care not working with physically fragile people who shouldn't have their rights taken away.

What rights are you afraid will be taken away? The right to infect patients? Is that a right you really want to keep? Of course, by keeping the right to infect patients you take away their right to be protected from infection by the very people who they are entrusting with their wellbeing.

I will not sign this.It already is mandatory in Canada. At least here in Ontario it is. I know this because my Mother was a registered nurse. This should not be forced on healthcare workers. If YOU get an influenza vaccine then you should be protected....right? even if your healthcare provider hasn't had the vaccine. If the vaccine actually works you won't catch it so the story is told.

Does no one else reckognize a problem with the government wanting to force us to take whatever they want to inject us with?
Where do you draw the line on government control?
If mandated vaccinations are allowed, why not mandated birth control for welfare?
Those poor people reproducing are draining my retirement funds.
Seriously, Who is going to profit from mandated vaccinations?
I have lived my entire life without a flu shot, and I rarely get sick.

The flu vaccine efficacy is not 100%, but there genuinely is such a thing as herd immunity, whether or not the anti-vaccinationists understand this basic concept; if enough people in a population are protected, then a disease is denied easy vectors of transmission.

And, people like my mother - an 82-year-old immunocompromised woman in frequent contact with the medical establishment - are at risk from all those people who insist that having to get a flu shot "tramples on their rights." If...

If you catch the flu, then you are infectious before you show symptoms, and my mother, and people like her, are at risk of their lives because of you. You are risking real people's lives over fears based on ignorance and misunderstanding.

Absolutely not, people should have the right to decide what they want to have injected in there bodies or not. What is this world coming to if you don't even have the right to decide something like that. Its absolutely ridiculous!

Absolutely. They should have that right. They also have the right to find another line of work. The idea of a nurse with the flu treating me? Ridiculous.

Flu Shot 98.5% USELESS! It works in only 1.5% of population. http://birthofanewearth.blogspot.com/2011/12/flu-shot-985-useless-prevents-flu-in.html
