Are the air brakes failing on flat city streets or after coming down a long grade? Being an ex-truck driver, you can loose brakes from riding them down a long grade, This loss of brakes is known as fading. I haven't seen or have read anything except on here about Air Brake failure. You can check your air pressure before pulling out for a trip, and if you are a truck driver, then you know what I am talking about. Sometimes the cause of an accident isn't mechanical failure but operator failure. I have seen other truck drivers going down the road talking on their cell phones and playing on their computers, and I don't mean their QUAL-COM and trying to smoke, drink and eat all at the same time. I have had 4 wheelers pull out in front of me and turn just a short ways down the road. Just remember that it is easier to stop a car or pick up truck than it is to stop an 80,000 pound rocket.

I will sign it, however, in a lot of cases truck drivers speed, ride so close to you that it s dangerous. Matter of a fact, in 2008, my husband was rear ended by a truck driver speeding in a construction zone. He was hurt, but luckily is still alive. It s not just a brake issue..it s a responsible driverr issue!!!

don't blame just the truck driver I've been out there 20 years now and yes there are some bad truck drivers out the that I feel should not even be driving HOWEVER 90 percent of the time when entering a construction zone people in cars will speed up to what ever speed it take to get in front of that truck in front of them then slam on the brakes to 45 mph one day I'm going to put a web cam on my dash so people like you can that have no idea can see what goes on in front of a semi

Tabitha ... dead on with your post ... as was William Okls with his .... I'm going to add into this mix every single person that is not in that truck that forces drivers to drive in a unsafe way to make that delivery or be replaced by a driver that will. Safe and Legal drivers need protection from those that force driver to make the choice between running safe or going home to explain to their families why daddy no longer has a job
