It's great to see so many people have already taken the pledge, at the same time, it's sad to see how many of them did so because they feel sorry for/love dolphins (from what was said on comments), so it's ok to kill tuna since they're not as 'beautiful' or 'magical' as dolphins? Sad.

Most of us DO think it's wrong to kill Tuna for other reasons on so many levels, including their beauty...and I agree that it is sad if people think the way you describe

I personally love all wildlife and the beauties they bring to this Earth and find it wrong to exploit them in any way.

I understand your point completely. I cant say I am vegetarian b/c I do eat chicken from time to time. But just 2 days ago I went to a market, right next to jt was a Fresh Fish store. (I never go in). But that day, something pulled me to go there. ....they had crabs in a box, "alive". It was heart breaking to see them out of their comfort dying SLOWLY! .....it made me sk sad, and alone. Wish more people will feel Oneness with all of the Universe. -Love, Light, &Smiles-Fabi-

Debbie Daniel No...as repulsive as his comment is, I wouldn't say that. He is just saying what everyone believes; Many people think that we need to eat seafood to stay healthy. In fact, I bet if we did a random survey 90% would say so. But the truth is, we don't need fish to survive. There are alternate sources of protein and Omega-3. Soy contains much protein and walnuts contain Omega-3.

And even IF we needed to eat fish, we shouldn't need to take obsessively large quantities out of the...

And even IF we needed to eat fish, we shouldn't need to take obsessively large quantities out of the ocean. It is depleting the ocean and causing the deaths of many innocent animals including dolphins, sharks, turtles, and fish. Many of the fish taken away from the sea don't even get eaten. How much more unconscientious and wasteful can humans be? All we care about is ourselves. All we care about is our own egocentric feelings. If killing the whole world is justifiable just because the majority agrees with it, then the world is doomed. People, please wake up. I don't want life to extinguished on this planet permanently because of our ignorance.

Fabiola Salazar I agree with the ONEness of the Universe; and I won't eat crabs etc. since they are tied up for too long--if you get a crab, eat it quick!! Horrid way to die for any creature; then some boiled alive.....yuck.

Dolphins have many, many times gone WAY out of their way to save a human life, as in many cases of surfers being stalked by sharks-these dolphins, for whatever reason, will place themselves between a human and a shark to save a human life. Like it or not, they are linked in to us as few other species. Do we want to thank them back? We should be making contact with them and loving them.

Nope, sorry. Fishing is not sustainable with a world population of 6-7 billion and common use of destructive fishing techniques. Also, the topic of pollution is now critical. Interesting comment (forgot the speaker): "Tuna is how rich people poison themselves." The top predator fish, such as tuna, accumulate mercury and other heavy metals that we're dumping into the oceans. Read up, David!

I thought that but you know me i can be a velpotta even if it is better of now. The situation in the Baltic sea i slowly getting better, but the poison is still there. The fish aswell as Tång can change that. Herring and Salmon is really recovering. I cought some, but i put them back. Torsk and Strömming is better too!

I don't think not eating tuna is the right decision, we simply need more severe fishing laws. And there's something that I want to underline which is bluefin tuna over-fishing in the mediterranean sea where tuna is kept just to supply the Japanese suchi and sashimi market after the catching season is over. It's really a big problem that should be taken seriously..
