The only reason for this ritual of bleeding an unstunned animal to death was to remove more of the blood from the meat as it squirms to survive. This meant that the meat would last longer in a hot climate and became doctrine. There is no place for it in a modern civilised society.

Half of the cruel halal meat gets sneaked into our supermarkets without us even knowing, its worth asking in the places we shop in most often.

These people are just getting to much of there own way its up to the people of Britain to stand together speak out be heard. It seems the current goverment is affraid to upset muslims but you are all forced to eat halal meat!
My next vote goes to UKIP I personally think we need to get the hell out of the EU' then perhaps as a nation we can change our country for the better. I don't eat meat anyway but this is a barbaric way for any creature to meet its end.

The 'practice' of hacking at the throats of fully conscious animals should be banned we all know that. May be in places like the Middle East where the lives of animals mean nothing it is acceptable but I live in Australia and for any government that has animal welfare laws in place to allow such brutal slaughter is simply to weak to stand up to these extremists who simply do as they please all in the name of 'religion'.

Well said Gary Barnes , no point in me saying anything Ithink you got it covered , I can say though that a lot of meat that's on sale in the supermarkets is Halal it just isn't labeled, only the special shelves that are targeted at muslims are labelled , and the Jews with their Kosher that's labelled too. tesco, s 77% of their meat is unlabelled Halal as is asda and they will quite happily tell you if you ask the big bosses, so you really don't know what youre eating.Im a veggie but I don't...

We had our own law on this issue, to be broken for a foreign people, living in our land. So out of order and totally unacceptable. It must stop now!

If you have watched one of the sickening videos of poor, helpless animals being visciously tortured and dying in excruciating pain, you know why this MUST be stopped. Please help those who cannot halp themselves...PLEASE.
