I would prefer to say that I want to respectfully remind the government of the commitments it has made as a signatory... I am not a citizen of this country and do not feel it my place to "demand" action. However, I would urge the leaders to remember the consequences (permanent) of their actions and the show the integrity in their position to do what is best for all, not easy, convenient, or profitable for a few.

what is it with the Australians (and Japanese) that will without any qualms destroy another country's environment but protect only what is in their own borders. Why? There is no local 'consequences' for unethical practices and they do not have the backbone to realize we all share this planet and all have a responsibility towards it - regardless of where we were born or where we live. Perhaps we can suggest to them to go 'mine' the barrier reef! Leave our wild places intact! Just like the...

Perhaps we can suggest to them to go 'mine' the barrier reef! Leave our wild places intact! Just like the Japanese destroys the Amazon with their logging - a previous CEO of Mitsubishi was asked what they will do if there are no more trees left in the Amazon to which he replied ' we will find another forest'. What a sad comment.

Our planet is so small that we all can get adversely affected if people with short term profit goals are allowed to play their game undermining the ecological cost.

Where is Kortbroek? Minister of what? Does he do anything or is he also just enjoying the ride? As Steven Hay points out this is a wonderful place and it will also destroy tourism and work opportunities.

Here in Australia we are fighting to keep gas company Woodside out the the Kimberley area, a pristine coastal line in NW Australia that is of major significance to Aboriginal peoples who've been there for over 30.000 years! The Pilbarra/Burrup country with ancient rock art depicting animal species that lived during the time of the Dinosaurs has already been destroyed by a big gas factory, now they want to build on at James Price Point where there is a Whale sanctuary where Whale mothers and...

The Pilbarra/Burrup country with ancient rock art depicting animal species that lived during the time of the Dinosaurs has already been destroyed by a big gas factory, now they want to build on at James Price Point where there is a Whale sanctuary where Whale mothers and their calves rest during migration. The Premier of Western Australia is driving this! And Woodside is losing share holders AND major investors over it! And yet they are hell bent on destroying this area that contains Dinosaur footprints. There ARE alternatives but massive equipment has been brought in under police protection. 22 Protesters have been arresting while blocking the roads of this very isolated country north of the town of Broome. Indigenous people have been dragged off their ancestral land! Corporations us conquer and divide tactics setting Indigenous people us against each other and buying them off with $$$ while destroying their land for ever. It's happening in Papua New Guinee now too and all over the world. The Panan people are fighting for their last remaining rainforests, they've lost their livelyhoods, and the Orangutans are close to extinction! I'm sure you know it all. Please educate everyone around you, get work collegues involved, talk about this world wide onslaught. Anyone with children should be deeply concerned about their futures! The Earth is in peril!

The Third World War has come in the form of a total onslaught of miners! World wide ecocide is committed EVERYWHERE! Native tribes dispossessed of their ancestral lands, marine life and coral reefs decimated and destroyed. Arctic drilling for oil. Super trawlers swiping the southern ocean as I type this, fracking of deep earth layers using toxins that will pollute ground waters, toxic spills from collapses mines into rivers and oceans.... rainforests logged the world over from Siberia to the...
