Mining companies don't care... Aussie mining company is strip mining in remote islands off Thailand or Phillipines & destroying their coral beds with pollution. They are doing nothing to stop pollution as witnessed on People of the Sea. Imagine if the coast next to the great barrier reef was mined? We borrow the earth from future generations.

The wild coast is too beautiful to destroy. We will have to make another plan to create jobs for the people, build schools, training centres, vegetable gardens and to teach them to be self sufficient and to run their own businesses.I am currently working on getting money in for the area for development and not to destroy it.

We would understand if we as the local people were in support of this mining, but the fact is we have told the minsters that we do not want our land to be mined even if mining was the last option available for job creation.

We have the power to hold our publicly elected officials accountable, but only if we do something active - do not allow the minister to shrug her shoulders as others have done and pretend that she has acted in the interests of the very electorate that put her there in the first place; let your mouseclick match your mouth!

So in Democracy one would think that the majority would be heard? John Block is still in his job? Does it matter what we say? they own a war machine remember!

The Upper South Coast Anti-Toll Allaince supports the SWC, because together we are in the same boat fighting against two important injustuces. SANRAL wants us to pay for a road we here at Toti will hardly ever use. Secondlythis Toll Road will destroy the pristine Wild Coast forever, with a road that that slices the area in two, and allows a convey of 50 tonne mine trucks going to & fro through to Richards Bay Minerals, and back every hour of the day and night. Never mind the truck stops...

Never mind the truck stops along the way that bring aids to unsespecting young girls and women. Is this a price worth paying for a few short term jobs and greedy mine owners?
