The government has no idea what they are doing. Only this morning were we commenting on how they DO NOT want to educate our children... Because then they will be wiser to what is actually happening in our country and fight against the government for what is RIGHT...

This is another really good cause.

I support the cause with all my heart! What's wrong with those governments all over the world? Has the insatiable greed for money made them blind? Maybe it's time someone taught them a lesson and showed them where their place is, what they have been elected for.

A tricky subject. I think you should mention the other side of the story:

- many thousands of Pondos might object to all these people (who know nothing of the Wild Coast) wanting them to continue living in the direst of poverty.
- tourism provides very limited employment on the Wild Coast. The tourism operators I've met there pay minimum wage or less, and in those terms they're no better than a mining company.
- the Wild Coast is anything but an unspoiled paradise. It's heavily populated...

- the Wild Coast is anything but an unspoiled paradise. It's heavily populated and grazed, with little of the original flora and fauna remaining.
- 17km of a 250km coastline has been tagged for mining (last I heard) - a small percentage.
- you don't mention the reasons for the Pondo royalty's opposition to mining, but I suspect that they're very different to yours. I'd like to know the real reasons.

Not that I'm necessarily in favour of the mining project, but I think those sort of factors should be taken into account, before going off on a wild crusade based only on European-style sentiment.

Talk of a stitch in time. A mere signature now can help avert a lot of suffering, if not for ourselves and contemporaries, then for our progeniture. If you like justice, then you will want to prevent the profit motive of a few individuals from destroying the livelihood and culture of a people. Did I hear you say you are proactive?

Igual que aca en Chile, se destruye todo el medio ambiente para que las grandes empresas mineras se llleven nuestros recursos y, nos dejen solamente devastacion, pobreza, basura y mucha contaminacion:(
