the fact that someone would create such a demeaning, dishonorable, horrible page is just... I have no words for the anger I feel coming from a military community.

Lets treat all of our troops the same. Suicide is on the rise in all branches. Lets get to the bottom of things and help our troops get back to a normal life with their families.

We lost a soldier today.....IN ACTION...........we don't want to loose anymore under any circumstances trying to be a world power with a navy in Ferries and our best up there dying. Those coming back need all the help and appreciation we can give them...............remember the Vietnam Vets treatment.

I wanted to share my husbands personal experience. He was a member of the Mt. National Guard. He was deployed to Iraq for a year and when he returned home, he was demobilizing in Ft. Lewis Wa. state. When they went through Dr. appts. and my husband actually had a back injury incurred or worsened by a roadside bomb blast that threw their vehicle some distance with a jolt. Then another injury incurred when a driver of the vehicle he rode in hit a wall. There were some other injuries that arose from repetition. For example one is his shoulders and part of his neck always hurt. And he attributes it to constantly having the gun in firing position and the firing of the gun itself. Then there is the p.t.s.d. which has taken over our entire families lives over the past 7 years. It seems to get worse with time. When he first came home I think everyone thought he looks great and sounds great he must be doing great.
All the soldiers that just returned from that hostile country doing the toughest job anyone can do, and being away from everyone and everything they knew, that they must stay there until all injuries are treated and it could be months, depending on if they needed surgery or not. Our children and I wanted to drive over to Wa. 2 states away and 12 hrs away the day he returned but they were not allowed to have family there. It led to my husband downplaying his injuries, as did most soldiers. Who wouldn't in those circumstances. Then there is p.t.s.d. that not even the soldier himself knows if he has and in my husbands case took him a long time to accept. They wanted to be home so badly. Many soldiers were set to be discharged and could not later come back and say they are suffering. My husband had re-enlisted in Iraq so it was not a problem for him. He is getting great treatment even though in a state with a population as low as Mt. there is long waits to get appts. with Doctors, there are many Veterans of many wars or just a veteran of the military period, and not enough physicians that treat Veterans. Many people don't think about it as all Veterans they are just thinking about war Veterans.
I do believe there is a push by government to get people out as fast as they can so they don't have to pay for thier medical costs. And many Veterans are not capable of working due to the physical or mental disability they incurred in war. That is very wrong. We need to take care of the people who take care of us. Please share and sign, to protect soldiers rights to recieve health care, even after service has ended. Some injuries are visible and immediate and some are not. My husband suffers every day because of his back and the p.t.s.d. he suffers only seems to progress.
