My daughter has had PTSD which is twice since she has been home and more people need to know that these men and women have given time and effort for our country and have seen and did things we only see in movies . We need to support them as much as we did when they were overseas. But people forget. As a Father I want my sweet daughter back . That will not happen . She was in a war and lost friends and there is nothing that can make this right

I am a Marine Corp vet and I signed this petition. I did find some false information in your statement labeled Update 1 that needs to be clarified. " (Before a veteran can access services at the VA, they need a finding of disability.)" This is not true. Any vet can walk into any V.A. and go through the enrollment process, just take your DD214 to prove active duty service time in a war zone, you don't have to be disabled. With that said, be ready for Co-pays that are tied to your current...

Also, I would ask those that have posted so much support this Veteran's Day, to tell it to their Congressmen/Women and Senators because the V.A. is definitely understaffed and you may wait 3 months or more for your first appointment. Of course you can go to the E.R. and wait all day.

I like what you are doing. Semper FI!

Thanks for laying it out in more detail. I failed to mention that you have to spend 180 days in a war zone to qualify unless you have a service connected disability, which would definitely put a Veteran in the category that you mention since they would have to wait (sometimes years) for their Compensation and Pension claims to be processed...

I felt that if a young Veteran with no V.A experience read the article then they would think that they had to have a rating before going to the V.A., so now we have that cleared up.

I see your pont, and agree..it is too bad that Cheny started all this for Halliburton's MONEY! Over 6000 in Iraq, now over 2K in Afghanistan, and for what? Yup, MONEY and the oil over there we want, and WILL take, until Iran's Mullahs decide, I don't think so.......

However , in the wars my family has been in,if I lost any family member, which I have, my uncle in WWII before I was born, so I never met him, that was indeed a sacrifice, just as any man or woman who loses theiir life domestically or internationally protecting this country..........that is a sacrifice. We have now made it so we are being murdered by the Afgan soldiers we are training, 50 so far.........any one over there who has died, no matter what the cuase, is a sacrifice to God, family and friends.

Common sense...tells us ALL-that this is THE LEAST we can do. Not just thank OUR fellow citizens for serving our country and protecting us, but not it’s OUR turn. They need for US- to serve and Protect THEM.

My grandfather served in the Navy during WWII, around the time of Iwo Jima. I never agreed with the idea of war in general, because of the toll that it takes on the people who defend our country. I never asked my grandfather about what he had to endure, I could see it on his face. I just want to see our troops come home.

Mr. O does not care about veterans. I am in disbelief America re-elected him. We are getting what we asked for. For you Libs that vote for Dem's and Lib politics, when you wake up it will be too late. As a two-tour veteran of Vietnam, war is hell.
