It's good to rescue a dog, but not at your own expense, i.e. court times, fines & tires.

To David Felter and Skip Grove:

Sometimes we DO have to put ourselves on the line in order to save/free/speak out for helpless victims who cannot speak out/defend themselves. I would definitely do whatever it took to free a helpless child or animal in a dangerous or life threatening situation.

Just because the humans are ignorant, does not mean you have to act in an illegal manner

We are all human (at least most of us). It is easy for emotions to take over on such a subject. We can do more by keeping our credibility and by getting things done in a legal manner.

Skip Gove brutal that you would put a price tag on an innocent animal suffering at the hand of some dumb human.

David Felter I'm sure that you were joking that's a bit drastic but breaking a window is not and in some states as in mine (Florida) it is permissible Human or animal.

This Is Just Plain Common Sense Not To Leave Your Pet Locked In A Car With The Windows Up!

Kathi Potter

  • William Bingham

even with windows open it gets unbelievably hot in a car in the sun. unless windows are open such that the dog can escape (and, one would hopr) becoming road kill, open windows don't help.
in the heat of summer, how long would yo bew comfortablein a car with windows open?

Joan Capobianco
Joan Capobianco
  • William Bingham

Kathi Potter It takes much less time for an animal to die due to the arising heat. We sweat, they don't. By the time we would be frustrated or sweating, the animal would be dead.

It is truly a shame that some people do not have common sense, and must be reminded.

Adele Sutton

  • William Bingham

Right Charlotte If everyone is aware that COMMON SENSE "IS NOT COMMON" espeically in todays society, we would all think twice. I would first call 911 if they did not respond in time I would break the window then at least its on record that you made an attempt to get help Just like seeing someone in a burning building IF it were safe for you to help you would not stand by and wait till the fire consumed everything before you would act.
Keep doing the good work Causes

Too many people don't have common sense! I have called 911 several times and even taken license # and turned them in. I wait for the person(s) to come out and go from there. Been a couple of close calls.... If they had a gun, they would have shot me..

If all people went to jail for animal abuse (and they should) there would be no room for any one else, this is a sad fact, I believe (X- S.P.C.A inspector).

There would be plenty of room in jails for the sickos that purposely harm animals, if they just freed all the political prisoners in jail for possession of Marijuana.

Also, another woman was by her car keeping watch, and the dog was at that point actively barking at another dog outside his/her car.

I once unloaded 8 bags of ice through the window opening (the dog was not showing any IMMEDIATE signs of heat stress) which gave the dog something to lick and cool down the ambient temp. I also left my standard warning notice. I think the point across when the owner returned to soaking wet seats. (did I say I chose the driver's window?)

Kim Cronin

people who do this make me sick, there is absolutely NO reason to leave your dog in a car in hot weather or freezing cold weather. I hate seeing animals in the car when people go food shopping or regular shopping, why does the dog need to go? I have done it before and I will do it again, get that window opened and help the dog, call the police(make sure you give them the make model and license) and wait til they show up so the dumb@ss owner doesn't get away, keep the license for safe keeping ;) Be the voice for the voiceless!

I don't understand why dogs (pets) need to go shopping... especially if you just leave them in the car. My dog isn't very social, which is my fault for not taking her out more but I got her as a GUARD dog. Even if she was socially acceptable, she is much happier at home with her yard, toys, food, water and peeing whenever she wants. If you dog has to go with you because they freak out at being left alone, you aren't any better than me for not having a social dog.
And as someone that had...

And as someone that had allergies as a kid, I don't want your dog in the stores licking or sitting on things I am going to buy for myself or my child. Saw a lady with her rat dog chewing and snuggling with a stuffed animal and then she put it back... so now my baby may get that toy with your dogs yuck on it - thanks!
Ok... rant over.
