Please, prevent dog deaths in hot cars! Report to police dogs or any pets locked in cars!
People should not be so cruel.
Diana Plascencia, peolpe aren't just cruel, they're stupid!
I'll free the pet, then I'll slash the tires.
It's good to rescue a dog, but not at your own expense, i.e. court times, fines & tires.
I was joking.
To David Felter and Skip Grove:
Sometimes we DO have to put ourselves on the line in order to save/free/speak out for helpless victims who cannot speak out/defend themselves. I would definitely do whatever it took to free a helpless child or animal in a dangerous or life threatening situation.
Just because the humans are ignorant, does not mean you have to act in an illegal manner
Short and to the point! Thank you.... could not have said it better myself!
So would I ~ I was joking about the damage.
We are all human (at least most of us). It is easy for emotions to take over on such a subject. We can do more by keeping our credibility and by getting things done in a legal manner.
Free the poor animal then spit on the windshield for me!
Skip Gove brutal that you would put a price tag on an innocent animal suffering at the hand of some dumb human.
David Felter I'm sure that you were joking that's a bit drastic but breaking a window is not and in some states as in mine (Florida) it is permissible Human or animal.
This Is Just Plain Common Sense Not To Leave Your Pet Locked In A Car With The Windows Up!
even with windows open it gets unbelievably hot in a car in the sun. unless windows are open such that the dog can escape (and, one would hopr) becoming road kill, open windows don't help.
in the heat of summer, how long would yo bew comfortablein a car with windows open?
Kathi Potter It takes much less time for an animal to die due to the arising heat. We sweat, they don't. By the time we would be frustrated or sweating, the animal would be dead.
It is truly a shame that some people do not have common sense, and must be reminded.
Right Charlotte If everyone is aware that COMMON SENSE "IS NOT COMMON" espeically in todays society, we would all think twice. I would first call 911 if they did not respond in time I would break the window then at least its on record that you made an attempt to get help Just like seeing someone in a burning building IF it were safe for you to help you would not stand by and wait till the fire consumed everything before you would act.
Keep doing the good work Causes
Too many people don't have common sense! I have called 911 several times and even taken license # and turned them in. I wait for the person(s) to come out and go from there. Been a couple of close calls.... If they had a gun, they would have shot me..
People are just so stupid and inconsiderate!!!
people don,t av common sense that,s just it, alwys makes me cringe wen cum up wiv ridiculous statement," wer,e more intelligent than them", where the hell did that cum from? not in million yrs.
I would agree with Peggy Schramm comment I would the window I could not bear to see an animal suffer in the car.. yes I would break the window to save the animal.
signed and shared
If all people went to jail for animal abuse (and they should) there would be no room for any one else, this is a sad fact, I believe (X- S.P.C.A inspector).
I have a window smasher in my car for emergencies & I will use it if I ever have to.
There would be plenty of room in jails for the sickos that purposely harm animals, if they just freed all the political prisoners in jail for possession of Marijuana.
aint that the truth..
I would get the dog out by any means necessary, even if it means busting a window and whupping the owners ass afterwards.
...I hear you on that!!!!!
yea me too
I'M WITH YOU 100 %.... BEAT THE HELL OUT THE OWNERS
Sorry but beating the hell out of the owners is not the answer - getting them prosecuted by the Police is. Violence just doesn't solve anything.
I made a very quick trip into a grocery store and was going to call 911 if the owner had not returned by the time I returned to my car.
I'd just throw a brick through the window. ;)
Also, another woman was by her car keeping watch, and the dog was at that point actively barking at another dog outside his/her car.
I once unloaded 8 bags of ice through the window opening (the dog was not showing any IMMEDIATE signs of heat stress) which gave the dog something to lick and cool down the ambient temp. I also left my standard warning notice. I think the point across when the owner returned to soaking wet seats. (did I say I chose the driver's window?)
me 2. great idea that, u av 2 cool down gradually or wiv cool cloth, but least that wud help wot did, cool down car little, they let animals lick lollies in zoos, parks 4 same reason, luv bit added on the end, did they no diffrence i wonder? got the point tho no doubt.
Always , always I would do whatever was necessary to save an animal. People are so stupid.
I have actually called the police on people who do that. In WA. it's a form of animal abuse.
Done! People just blow my mind sometimes - such stupidity & (even if unintentional) cruelty! Poor poor puppy dogs (& occasional cats too like my Jorge who loves card rides)/ -- ...

Thanks Patricia! Yes, it is amazing that some people do not have sense to know that if you leave your dog in a hot car, it could very well kill him/her :( Every summer you hear at least a few stories about this, it's so infuriating!
